  Belegohst wasn’t known for their parties, but this time they had invited la crème de la crème, which of course meant that River had many reasons to be there - and not only to meet new contacts. Her dress glittered beautifully in the soft light of the room and there were always a couple of eyes on her, as it should be. She was taking a glass of champagne that a woman caught her attention. She was wearing a uniform, yet it was clearly the formal version of it. A smug smirk spread on River’s lips and she swaggered towards the other. “What lie did they sell you to make you come here?”

Not that Clara had any physic powers, no matter how much she wished she did, but she could tell that they were thinking or saying something about her inside that little head of theirs. The brunette wanted answers.

The Witch in the 24th Century

The last any of them had known, they had fallen asleep in the woods, a protective shield around them forged by her strongest magic and most powerful protective spell she knew. The six of them having long fled their home last year what with the death of the children’s father by witch-hunters, causing pain, grief and the deepest anger in the earth witch at a level that she had never known herself to express by killing so many. But what they did to her husband? It was a cruel thing to do to a man of the faith which the hunters so-called followed! A cruel joke..... And to think?! Her own blood brother betrayed her, along with lied throughout her suffering as a witch just so he didn’t endure it!

Now they slept in woods, eating what they could from the land, escaping from the hunters due to the witch not being able to contact her Circle despite numerous ways and even more numerous times. Thankfully before they fled their home, they managed to pack a fair few bags between them, the eldest children, Sophie and Henry, carrying their youngest siblings, twins Emilia and Ezekiel, whilst their mother led them all, stopping to rest every once in a while, eat and feed her two babies..... The last reminder of her children’s father who was so cruelly taken from them. Along the way, in fact very recently, the group came across another infant, an abandoned one who brought the group to her by her bright light. So touched was the witch that she simply had to take the girl with them, naming her Angela and allowing her to suckle from her now that the twins had almost completely weaned off. Charles and Athena just about managed to usually keep up, being the middle children but mostly where there as the line of defence, being the two who had their hands free most of the time.

Now though, they found themselves somewhere completely different, none of the magical members of the family being able to sense anything familiar whilst Henry tried to find anything relevant on his map or through the compass that he had left of his father. Soon though, they had other troubles as people found them and started firing... Strange blast like weapons at them. “Run!” the earth witch stated, all of them taking off in their cloak-coats whilst trying to stick together, Charles looking back every now and again, pushing a telekinetic wave towards the men to push them back. Once in a while, Athena and the earth witch used their own respective gifts over fire and earth to give themselves more distance between themselves and their pursuers. “Children! Into the woods!” the woman cried out with joy as the seven darted between the trees. At her silent plea, the trees moved to help block them from view as they slowed down, heavily panting.

“Are we all here? Safe and sound?” She asked, gently stroking the infant’s face as Henry gulped. “We’re here, Ma...... But I don’t know about safe..... Or sound!” he stated, the woman looking back as she spied some people in front of her in either red and black or gold and black. Her blue eyes looked at them in worry and a small amount of fear as Charles and Athena stood in front of their mother and siblings, Charles holding both hands out with telekinetic energy pulsing around whilst Athena held fire in both of hers. “Sweetlings don’t! You’ve exhausted yourselves enough...... Please, no more!” their mother stated as her blue eyes looked into the very similar blue eyes of the woman before her. “Please! For the lives of my children and myself, please! Help us!” she pleaded, her hood of her green cloak-coat having fallen off whilst they ran and revealing her very exhausted, but still remarkably strong willed features.
