she can practically feel him brooding from the spot she’s hidden herself in. she’s not entirely sure why she’s returned to this time. she just knows that the tardis, who typically AVOIDS anomalies like this, has refused to move until she resolves...something. she watches her younger self for another moment before getting fed up and, quite frankly, bored. ❝ you know it’ll go a lot quicker if you stop TWEAKING it every two seconds. ❞

in RETROSPECT, the doctor thinks that sneaking around the sanctuary was probably a bad idea. at the time though, she’d been cold and wet and dripping with monster goo and she knew helen’s clothes would fit her. when she feels the gun press up against her neck, she holds up her hands. she’s met ashley a few times, though the TIMELINE is all jumbled up and she has no way of knowing if it’s happened yet.

she catches the FLASH of orange hair and it turns her instantly. of course, it’s not just the hair that catches her eye ( though she has always been drawn to gingers ), but also the energy. like jack or ashildr, this energy seems to go on forever, and yet it’s FAMILIAR in its strangeness, as if she’s encountered it or something like it before. she moves to follow it, and before long, the doctor catches sight of her face. her hearts stop.
