As fun as the environmental disasters were, Ellen found herself quickly getting bored of them. Kids would be kids. But she hadn’t expected something of this scale to come so quickly... there were so many things and people roaming around now, and that island floating above them! This was like a full-scale war going on around here! The people on this island just couldn’t keep it peaceful for long, could they? It was hilarious!

A bit sad too. Even she could keep her composed for longer, and that was saying something!

However, it seemed like her presence here had only added onto the problem, as shouting could be heard from the streets now. Maybe not to the average person that had bigger problems on their hands, but she knew those screams. Those chants. They were out for her. They had a vendetta against her. And as much as she’d love to keep on running away from them instead of actually showing off her strength immediately, her legs were already beginning to numb. Clearly, they were in disagreement with her getting exercise, and those mobs were only going to get faster the more she slowed...

So she took to hiding. Running down shorter and slimmer streets in an attempt to lose them. And it worked! For the most part. They could be someone else’s problem now.

But Ellen was always aware of her surroundings. She had to be, especially during this. Now, she could’ve seen anyone or anything and annoyed them instead, but this lady, in particular, took her interest. What were they doing, anyway? They seemed quite confused, or maybe they were just plain stupid. Guess she’d have to find out. Even if they hadn’t noticed the child, she chose to follow them for mere seconds before getting bored with that and gripping at their clothes. “ Are you hiding too? It’s not safe here... or anywhere. Do you not hear all the commotion? “

Hopefully, they didn’t mistake her as a trouble-maker. She’d hate to have to fight someone. Then again, she wasn’t exactly keeping her childish facade up during all this. Too tired for that.

         he wasn’t usually scared of storms, but something just felt really, really wrong. like this storm was something dangerous. there had been voices that spoke from somewhere, angry at one another, but he didn’t understand what they were fighting about or why the feeling in the air changed so much. but it frightened him. maybe it was what scared him more and the storm being really loud and intense brought out his fear easier.

normally, he would have run somewhere for shelter, but because of how hard the rain was and how loud the thunder rumbled, it didn’t sit right with him to rush around. like something might pop up and attack if he did. his soaking fur stood on end when someone showed up. “cha...?” the little creature crouched, his tummy touching the grass and shivering against the cold touch.

       It seemed like everyone was just a bit confused in this place, and for good reason. Being taken from your home, stuck in some place you didn’t know, and expected to survive on your own--it was all so unfair. Takuya himself was managing to adjust (mostly due to the ‘cheat-sheet’ he’d woken up next to), but he was aware that many others might not be so fortunate. 

       Such seemed to be the case with the individual in front of him, but something seemed a bit different about her case. She seemed confused, but in a way that was... Well, it seemed different from everyone else. What could her problem be? Not being one to shy away from involving himself in other peoples’ business, Takuya decided to step in.

“Um, excuse me.” He probably looked more than a little bold, approaching her so suddenly, but he tried to put on an easygoing smile to set her at ease. “I’m probably assuming a bit, but do you need some help?”

     There really are so many places to find food here. Quirrel isn’t quite used to it - in most civilizations, even prosperous ones, full meals aren’t bought freely. Here, however, it’s actually easier to find restaurants than it is to find markets.

     Regardless of its strangeness, it is very convenient. Quirrel hasn’t cooked a single time since his arrival!

     Today, he finds himself waiting in a line inside an establishment known as a cafe. When he passed by, the smells coming from inside were intriguing - risen pastry, fruits, roasted beans. It would have been a waste to disregard smells so promising. If only he knew what to order...

     “Excuse me, do you have a moment?” He turns to the person joining the line behind him, tipping his mask in a friendly manner. “Are you a local here, or are we both travelers? I’m Quirrel, and I’m sorry to say I’ve never visited a place such of this in my long journey. Would you happen to know much about what a latte is?”

Since Ellen is keeping up a facade with Clarissa, she likes to sway back and forth on the tips of her toes! Likes to keep up that childlike feeling to her, even if it hurts her legs to do this continuously.

Things change when / if the conversation gets serious or Cecile decides to talk to her, however. While she can keep up the facade in serious topics, Ellen drops the facade around Cecile, as she knows that she’s already got a bad impression on her and there’s no point trying to convince her otherwise.

Somehow, Ellen is comfortable with either of them seeing her when her legs are sore. Maybe that’s because she knows how incriminating it looks to hurt a child who is vulnerable?

Sometimes tenses up around them too. She doesn’t know why. It tends to be Cecile that gets this reaction out of her.

Rarely does he meddle in the affairs of others, and even rarer still is for him to listen to the requests of someone who’s not at least an acquaintance. Kingu is no stranger to the dangers of the city, especially when it happens to be under the effects of those sudden disturbances, but this is different. Never has his presence been wanted for merely the sake of not being alone.

“Surely you could find better company? Perhaps an acquaintance or friend?” It’s not that he means to be rude, not entirely at least, but he could count with one hand the number of friends he’s ever made and still have fingers left. “I wouldn’t say I’m particularly good company.”
