“really don’t take this personally. but that’s a dumb ass idea.”
Tony couldn’t help but place his hands into his pockets for a moment. Sure enough, Tony didn’t really like listening to anyone, in or out of his company, but people should know by now he’ll be blunt when it comes down to it. But the idea kind of seem a little dumb in his mind, maybe the other needed to give a better example, though, as much as toyn didn’t want to listen, this wasn’t much a job to have Peper come and sit in for.
“ You know what, give me something better. Tell me why this might be good for the company.”

ah it’s easy to pretend, easy to play on peter’s emotions like that, when the illusion ends up being so .. so real. it’s him, of course, at the end. amidst the chaos, he’d jumped in, drones aside, costume and everything at the ready, if bruised and battered as if he’d gone through hell and well— judging from what had just transpired, he may as well have. “ughhh—- tone it down—-” a groan leaves his lips, brows furrowed together as he finally stirs, resting his weight onto his elbow, soon as he manages to get it up. not that he’s hurting in any manner, but alas, it’s all for show. gotta make it believable, after all! “—wh—- did we do it?”
“Oh my God, you’re–– I thought you were dead.” The teen almost hugs him, he’s so happy to see him responsive. With a soft sigh of relief, Peter rocks back on his heels to sit by Beck instead and nods, a smile crossing his lips behind that too-hot black ski mask. “Yeah, we did it–– you did it. You’re amazing, man. Maybe a little crazy too, but amazing. We’re so lucky you came here when you did, I don’t know what we would’ve done without you.”
“ when will you learn that your actions have consequences?! “
- - - “ Funnily enough, Mr. Stark has asked me the same thing. “
i don’t think you have a choice, kiddo.
- - - As much as Peter would hate to admit it, Quentin was right. Swallowing the thick lump in his throat, he gave a simple shrug, averting sad eyes to the ground. Leaving his friends behind and going with Mr. Beck and Nick Fury seemed unreasonable at first, but the more he thought about it the more he understood why he had to. Being a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man was like his thing though, he was just a kid still, why should it be his responsibility to save the world? His only responsibility should be going to bed at 11 and passing his classes.
“ this is totally ruining my trip, man. I had big plans, big big plans! ”
It felt like so long ago, losing Mr. Stark, and guilt had pooled in his insides. Even now he sits on the side of the bridge, the mask of his suit being played with in his hands, he wants him back. Someone has to step up, has to be the next Iron Man and he doesn’t know if he’s ready. He doesn’t know if he even wants to, he can’t fill the shoes Mr. Stark left.
Fear crawls up inside him as he hears a crackle of a stones being pushed aside. Whipping around Peter’s eyes land on the newest hero he’s seen. Beck has a very comforting feeling about him, he talks to him and tries to help him. Peter relaxes if only slightly, he’s among friends. He doesn’t have to worry, who’s he kidding? He always has to worry, always has to throw himself in the middle of the fight because he can’t let others get hurt. He could never live with himself if someone else got hurt.
“ Oh. H-Hi. “
@delusiio -> starter call.
@delusiio liked for a starter!:
“They say that great minds think alike, so what’s our game plan?” He leaned up against the wall, arms crossed. It was no secret that Quentin thought himself one of the smartest people on Earth, any of them, so he could only hope that his newest ‘partner in crime’ had even a smidgen of the same outlook. “Between the two of us, we could up the scale on any illusion we put out.”
