Indulge in the decadence of a Deluxe English Trifle Parfait with layers of sponge cake, berries, custard, and whipped cream. A delightful treat for any occasion!
Ingredients: 1 cup sponge cake, cubed. 1 cup vanilla custard. 1 cup mixed berries strawberries, raspberries, blueberries. 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice. 1/2 cup whipped cream. 1/4 cup sliced almonds. 1/4 cup chocolate shavings.
Instructions: In serving glasses or jars, layer the bottom with sponge cake cubes. Pour a layer of sherry or fruit juice over the cake to moisten it. Add a layer of mixed berries on top of the cake. Spoon a layer of vanilla custard over the berries. Repeat the layers until the glass is almost full. Top the parfait with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Sprinkle sliced almonds and chocolate shavings on top for garnish. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!
