A melody drifted through the apartment, escaping through the open windows, it’s rhythm going from upbeat to calming seamlessly. Demyx worked over the keys of his keyboard piano, the music a stress reliever after a tough work day. Hayner was at school so he had the place to himself, which meant he could have his music as loud as he wished— which was pretty damn loud. His poor, poor neighbors.

Despite the volume, the blond still caught the knocking at the door, his fingers stilling and letting the tune fade out. Checking his watch, he saw it wasn’t time for his brother to be back yet and somehow be locked out again, nor did he invite anyone over today, so color him befuddled. Leaning back on his chair to see the door, he called out.
