Golf Club Nostalgia (Formerly Golf Club Wasteland) - Blast Review

Usually I dislike video games that involve sports, I just prefer to actual be playing the sport itself rather than a digitised facsimile. There are exceptions of course, Pyre being one such, if you can provide an interesting setting or make it compelling to me in some way then I'll happily play. Golf Club Wasteland definitely hits that mark with me. This isn't a light hearted game, nor is it subtle, the game tells you this from its very intro sequence, which I will paraphrase; The Earth is a radioactive wasteland, the rich moved to Mars and now only return to play golf across its ruined husk.
Despite this rather depressing setting the game is quite a lot of fun and feels more akin to a crazy golf course than regular golf since there are several 'shortcuts' you can take if you can spot them. Plus the 'hazards' go beyond mere sand traps... though those exist as well. I rather love the in game radio as well, it gives some real ambience to the game and provides a good chunk of exposition without getting in the way.
If you do want to find out more about the world you can always try to beat the par score of each level, doing so will unlock sections of a diary. Of course, if those course vex you too much the game offers a 'level skip' after a while and you can always go back and try again later.

The Cub is a straightforward cinematic platformer, set in the world of other demagog studio games. It tells the story of a half feral boy trying to survive in a destroyed world, and deal with Martian expedition. Its highlights are visuals, and the atmosphere, the gameplay mixes up Its formula regularly, but it could benefit with tighter controls and deepening Its mechanics. Overall, despite Its lacks, I got exactly what I wanted, and I can't help, but I love It.
Golf Club Nostalgia
GolfClubNostalgia is a nice, charming 2D mini golf game, with amazing music and graphics, projects of locations and deep lore. The lack of speed in loading the stages and menus, and the delayed strikes, because the character must actually swing the club, which makes it a bit more difficult when there are moving elements, the game makes up with the narrative and the feelings of melancholy.
