hey! so I can't speak with total certainty on the facebook/adoption post you are referring to buy I just wanted to say that in at least the U.S. (i dont know what country you're in) adoption is a much lengthier and expensive process so thats why many couples feel comfortable shifting to assisted conception. Like to really practice the "plenty of people to adopt a child" mentality, the process for childcare/adoption would need to be severely overhauled first

I mean, I get that, but I think the prices end up relatively comparable, when you take into consideration prenatal medical care + birthing classes + hospital expenses, along with the expenses of attempting to conceive through non-natural means. Depending on the agency.

I just feel very strongly about this, because I see kids come into my classroom on a weekly basis that are foster kids and get bounced around the system. They’ve had drug addicted parents. We had one girl who saw her father die. Seeing kids who’ve experienced these things hurts my heart so much. These kids haven’t had a childhood - they’ve seen things, worried about things, and had more responsibilities that no kid should ever have to go through. So even if it is more expensive, I don’t care. I want to be able to provide a safe, stable home for kids. I have no business putting my selfish desires of wanting to have my own child that looks like me above that.
