I'm tired of grilling millennium world but i made this anyway. Retcon of Millennium World Vol. 4, Chapter 36 Vs The Ultra Spirit Beast. The first two statements are direct quotes from the translation.

not a fan of atem's 'feels bad about genocide but doesn't do shit about it anyway' narrative for the same reason i ain't a fan of TKB's 'is against the privileged using their power to oppress the masses but uses his power to massacre the masses anyway'.

I can maybe get behind the latter. But only if TKB was explicitly under the influence of Zorc. Little Bakura manipulated by Zorc into an agreement and Zorc being in the driver seat ever since sounds pretty interesting. Would at least explain whatever the fuck's going on with Yami Bakura.

After the death of his brother and the previous court, Akunadin uses the power of the millennium items to dispose of the invading forces. He frames them for all the deaths and becomes the new pharaoh. His son, Seto, becomes the new crown prince.

15 years pass, Akunadin has fallen ill and the crown prince Seto has assumed most of his duties. It had been just another day of judging criminals using the holy power of the millennium items until three intruders stole the spotlight.

Kisara is Seto's bethrothed in this au and wields the millennium rod. And Light Mage Bakura is the wielder of the millennium ring.

Apparently you can move your art file [layers and all] from procreate to clip studio if you save it in psd format. So I made this on procreate and did the speech bubbles and paneling on clip.

I've always interpreted Atem as someone who wants to make things right, but doesn't really know how. He is also prone to getting tunnel vision in his quest. Most of the time, he either fights the problem or throws his life at it.

So, he doesn't really think of the consequences here. His thought process is just; Bakura wants to kill him because of kul elna. What happened to Kul Elna is wrong. Therefore letting Bakura kill him will make things right.

Being willing to die for what he believes is right sounds very in-character for atem.

King Swap AU Where Akunadin targets the royal palace instead of kul elna.

Hey ya'll. Saw some posts where tkb and atem were role-swapped, and I came up with this.

In this AU, Aknamkanon and his court learned to harness the power of their own ka without the need for the millennium items. So that scene in millennium world where they defeated the invaders still happened. but it was by their own power. Not the Mil. Items. and maybe not as op as it was in canon.

However, the ka was taking its toll on their ba and heka. they couldn't sustain the magic for too long on their own and, combined with the relentless attacks from the invaders, it was wearing them down. After 4 years, the invaders were once again at their door.

This one sorta follows the manga where Akunadin decides to create the mil. items.

But in 4 years, Akunadin's gotten seriously resentful of his brother, viewing him as weak. And there were many who shared his view. So...

Only Atem, Mana, Mahado, and Siamun were able to escape.
