There is a very specific reason I see Jayce as demisexual and demiromantic. And it's when he says he sees Viktor as a brother.

When I was younger, I had this friend of the same gender I was extremely close to. This was back before I even realised I liked multiple genders, so the concept of liking them as something more didn't even cross my mind until after I lost them because of an argument.

Arguably, I believe the same can be said for Jayce. While the heteronormativity standards in Arcane are different from that of the standard, I can see Piltover having a stronger lean towards it than a place like Zaun. Especially with Jayce being a more traditionally masculine type in physique.

Also losing Viktor made him truly reevaluate how he felt about him all those years in those days where he waited for him to wake up. And even moreso after he left the lab behind.

Perhaps liking men, really anyone, romantically was a more distant thought compared to seeing his dream come to fruition.
