Hello Mx. Wellman! I adore your HFTH aesthetic posts, and if you haven't answered a question like mine before, what's brought you to find such inspiration in bogs and ponds? You have a consistent recurring theme of under-the-water foreverness and sleeping beside frogs, what in your life has brought you to write stories that surround its beauty? Was it a person, or something from your past?

This was an early piece of art I did before the Hallowoods were fully realized! This sleeping skeleton would eventually become Democracy in the story.

During worse periods in my life, I would sometimes wake up and feel that my bed was a kind of sanctuary from the world, and if I could lay there, unconscious, it would pass over me without consequence. Not unlike a frog hibernating at a lake bottom for the winter.

The years have brought hope and better suns, and I keep my head above water now. But the image of sleeping on the lake floor, watching the seasons pass and the winters thaw stuck with me, and that's for the Sleepers to enjoy.
