black rain, blacker water 

a little Walt-centric fic written for @hfthresurrection day one

The water was flat and black, undisturbed by the fragrant kiss of the breeze, and seeming to swallow the timid autumnal sunlight rather than reflect it. Walt adjusted his cap. The weight of his sword rested heavy between his shoulder blades. His gun, and the silver bullets secreted inside, was a dangerous extension of his hip. He hoped, always, that he would not need either of them.
