“Luna-san, may I ask what you think of how we found each other to be significant in our lives? By that I mean it being not as ideal as normal ways.” Naoto’s question came out of nowhere and it surprised her black-haired girlfriend. She was prepared to explain her reasoning when she received a question on why she was wondering such things.
“I personally think the idea of a fairy-tale romance is sometimes simply… Unrealistic. It’s something I used to want to have if I ever met someone who I felt strongly towards so I understand that need: It is simple, without any worries after all.” However, the events she had experienced during these years had changed her view of the world: The scars of being blackmailed for who you were, feeling you were abandoned from people you trusted and almost letting your dark side win had affected her and were on her mind though it had been six months when that bastard had confessed for his crimes.
She could never imagine another way of meeting Luna - and eventually falling for the demon girl who she had struck a deal with - and she was grateful of everything. Generally after that hellish time was over and on how she had moved from Tokyo PD to Sae’s defense attorney company she’d felt like life worth it again and how she could trust people. Despite being now content with her life and how Luna had become a part of it she couldn’t help but think if it wasn’t as ideal in others’ opinion.
“This corrupted, dark world full of imbeciles and heartless men has proven me it’s usually not possible to accomplish. Yet other people keep on being attached onto that idealistic dream and would think oddly if I voiced my thoughts aloud or question other ways of people finding each other in this place of corruption and madness.” Naoto looked thoughtful before continuing and taking a grip of Luna’s hand.
“I mean, look at us. Neither of us is free in a way nor our past is as clean as you’d except. I am a detective who vouldn’t serve for justice for over who-knows how long and you the future queen of Hell and were a pawn for that… bastard I refuse to call by his name any longer. We both have gone through Hell and back and one would not expect us two, of all the people in the gang, to end up together.” Quite ironically it was the similar experiences and the mutual understanding of how shitty life could be sometimes but she failed to notice this detail.
