This is something I typed on my phone earlier...
It's 9:00pm, and I'm in the car. Directly ahead of us there are inky black clouds spreading out from one area of the horizon, covering a somewhat pale* yellow sunset and mid-blue sky. It is further illustrated by the bright orange and yellow lights beneath which give the illusion of complete darkness in that one area of the city, like it's night over there but not over here. My mother described it as "like a monster reaching out." I'm sure you can guess what my first thought was... *certainly for this time of night, although we are in daylight savings right now...
