Can we stop and remember something
One does not die from curing a demon. The priest guy? He didn't die. The only reason Sam would have died at the end of season 8 was because of the trials. Not the curing of a demon. Yeah the priest who originally cured a demon died later because the demons whacked him but he did not die from the ritual. If Sam were to cure Dean he would live to see his brother as a human.
