R Roman angst Contacts
Dear god you’re a genius!!!!
I have no excuse for this other than it was on my mind and a small lil angsty fic is always the way to go!
Based on my eye headcannons and this wonderful Roman contacts angst idea
Warning!: Angst, creative block is looking a lot more like depression than i expected, everyone is freaking out, Virgil and Logan are heading towards a panic attack tho i write far enough for them to suffer one

So Roman knows he gets these creative blocks, luckily he’s been in his room or alone every time one hits. When a creative block hits his eyes turn grey and he just feels so tired, speaking moving even just standing required so much effort. He cant chance the others seeing him like that so he lies and tells them hes working on a new idea so he can stay in his room. Roman created a pair of red contacts for when he would have to make an appearance at meals, acting twice as hard to ensure the others don’t notice, which only served to exhaust him even more.
Once back in the solitude of his room Roman would almost immediately collapse on his floor, lying practically immobile until he had to make another appearance or the creative block ended.
Though logically his luck had to run out at some point, and run out it did.
The four of them where hanging out in the kitchen, Virgil was perched on the counter sipping his peppermint tea while reading Logan’s book over the logic traits shoulder. Patton was cooking them all breakfast as he listened to Roman talk about a new show that they should all watch together.
Roman was gesturing excitedly as he spoke about how cool this new show was supposed to be, eyes sparkling like stars, twinkling with every word. The other sides couldn’t help but smile adoringly at the fanciful side, nothing was better than seeing those sparkles in Romans eyes.
It was while Roman was in the middle of explaining the plot that disaster struck. As fast and sudden as turning off a light switch, roman could feel the energy fade.
He froze, then stumbled before collapsing to the ground, legs no longer having the power to support him. Roman vaguely heard the others shout in alarm and the shattering of a cup before he landed in Virgil’s arms.
The anxious sides fight or flight kicked in the second he saw Roman start to fall, dropping the cup f tea and diving across the kitchen, just managing to cradle the creative sides head before it hit the tile floor.
“ROMAN!” The others cried, joining Virgil and Roman on the floor. Virgil had Romans head and upper body clutched to his chest as the anxious trait began to tremble the leftover adrenaline turning slowly to panic.
Logan placed a hand on Virgil’s arm imploring him to relax his grip and allow them to see the others face. Patton already had tears in his eyes from the shock of the situation, his hands already gripping one of Romans strangely cold ones.
Both Patton and Virgil made a sound of distress once they saw Roman’s eyes, tears ran down Morality’s cheeks and Virgil shook more in fear. Logan inhaled sharply as he stared in shock at the lifeless grey eyes of their normally expressive friend.
Two sets of eyes turned to the logical trait for guidance, Patton’s soft blue eyes filled with tears and cracking hearts and Virgil’s violet eyes shining harshly with with fear and panic.
“Logan whats happening!?”
“Whats wrong with him!?”
“Is he sick!?”
“How do we fix this!?”
“Is Roman dying!?”
“What do we do!?”
Logan swallowed down his own fear, now was not the time for panic. Roman’s condition was top priority and he wouldn’t be able to assess it while the other two were in hysterics.
“Please calm down, everything will be fine. It is unlikely that Roman is dying.” Logan stated calmly as he tried to ignore the part of him that was currently screaming. He gently tilted Romans head so that he could see into his grey eyes, cursing mentally at the small tremble in his hand as he did so.
“Roman? Can you hear me?” Logan asked clearly, the seconds before the other responded seemed to last for an eternity.
All of them let out a small sigh of relief when the princely trait nodded slowly.
