“Goodbye Horses” (Q Lazzarus cover) by Den-Mate
Dreamy purling, aureate glistering guitar pop emanates from Sick before it vaults us towards the sky with robust chugging riffs and an immense chorus. It’s quite the astounding sonic treat from Den-Mate, a multi-faceted project born in the rural Virginia bedroom of a musician named Jules Hale. Den-Mate’s debut full length Loceke is slated for release on September 28th on Babe City Records. Sick is a technicolor affair, a tender throbbing yet lush blooming crescendo with the gazey thrumming allure of Hatchie, the surf-kissed strums of Best Coast, and the hearty exultance of Wolf Alice. The video for Sick was directed by Robin Groulx and Eli Sinkus, and it’s quite a lo-fi glam affair for the eyes. You can pre-order Den-Mate’s debut album Loceke, here.

Ya’ll should check out my pal Julia’s music. I’ve learned a lot of self love as a musician from her and she’s been a die hard supporter of my work since I decided to start making my solo music public (which wouldn’t have happened without her encouragement as well might I ad). Guarantee ya’ll will love it, she’s currently working on her second LP ;) There’s a track on here called “Just So You Know” that I wrote and is among one the first things I’ve written and was glad to have Julia perform it on this album and at her shows. If you live in the D.C. area you should check out one of her live gigs out sometime!
I love my friends, they’re amazing musicians I learn more and more from each day.
