Why am I so tempted to paint him with blue jeans?

Everyone knows that Catachan Jungle Fighters are awesome, and they are only improved with bolters... Maybe giving this bad boy a “blue collar/rural thug” look would make him stand out?

Now I just gotta wonder if there’s an easy way to reproduce blue denim with paints. I want to assume a lighter but vibrant shade of blue and a darker wash/ink applied would do the trick, but I am slightly uncertain. Blue and Agrax Earthshade might just do the trick, but I am concerned it would look “too muddy”.

Pointers, advice, anyone?
