You ever suggest a ship as a joke and then you're sitting around like "Oh no."? Mine is DenLiet. I joked about Denmark and Lithuania and then I started thinking. Denmark's head is empty and his heart is full. Lithuania is bright and his heart is so broken. And then I was on wiki looking up Lithuanian-Denmark relations. And now I'm sitting here on a fucking pool noodle in the ocean.
Huh, that sounds interesting. Personality wise, I think it might work similar to Ameliet since Denmark and America share a lot of similarities. Their relations do look pretty good in the modern day, though Wikipedia doesn’t talk about anything before 1990. I don’t remember them ever interacting in canon, but that hasn’t stopped ships in this fandom before. If they did interact even a little in the future, Denliet could gain a lot more traction
For @aphrarepairweek2020, day three: stars. Inspired by this amazing art by @alfredtalia! A Denmark x Lithuania (Denliet?) Human AU fic (Magnus and Tolys are used as names). I’m so sorry if this is OOC,,,, sksksk
Summary: This time, Magnus’s surprise is actually rather amazing. Enjoy!

There was a note on the kitchen table when Tolys went downstairs.
Tolys! I have a surprise when I get back from work ;). Don’t worry, it’s not a big surprise, and it’s going to be fun. Also, I cooked breakfast for you! Sorry I didn’t wake you up, you looked too cute sleeping :(
Magnus <3
Tolys groaned. He really wished Magnus had just woken him up; even if he looked “cute” when he slept (as Magnus had put it), it was no excuse for being late to work. And why wouldn’t his boyfriend stop planning surprises for him? They always turned out fantastic, (he had to admit that much), but it would save him a great deal of worry if he’d just been told outright at dinner, calm and prepared for anything Magnus might throw at him. Tolys sighed, and started shoveling down his breakfast of buttered toast, scrambled eggs, and a small Danish pastry. He supposed he’d just have to wait and see what was in store for him later.

“We’re going to Bolivia?!” Magnus nodded excitedly.
“I’ve planned everything! All you need to do is pack, Tolys!”
“But-”
“No buts, please? For one, I already told your boss that you’re taking a break.” Tolys gaped.
“You told Ivan? And he’s okay with it?”
“Yeah, of course. He said he was fine with you taking a small vacation, since you’ve finished a lot of work ahead of schedule.” But Tolys still looked worried, and Magnus reached across the table and took his hand gingerly, trying to give him a reassuring look.
“It’s gonna be okay. I promise. I just thought... with your stomachache getting worse, you might want to stop stressing yourself out. Please, relax. Just this once.” Their eyes met, merry sky blue on deep fern green, the colors of the ocean and forest converging. Magnus could see the anxiety in Tolys’s face, the small frown and the tired creases etched around his mouth, and he wished he could take it all away. But instead, he just held his breath and waited, waited until finally, the corner of his boyfriend’s lips quirked up into a small half smile and his eyes looked a little less tired.
“Alright. But no more surprises for a month.”
“Yes! Thanks, Tolys. You won’t regret it.”

“We’re here! You can open your eyes now!” Tolys looked around, and gasped. He was surrounded by an endless plain of shallow water that was still as a mirror and reflected the sea of stars in the velvety black sky. The Milky Way hung above him, brilliant and mysterious and immense, and a thousand stars shone like little candles in the sky, the reflections beneath their feet a perfect echo of the pinpricks of light above. The water below him looked almost like glass, perfectly smooth, a beautiful mirror that stretched into the distance forever and ever and ever. It felt like he was walking in the sky, stepping in pools of glittering starlight, dancing into the heavens to live among the stars.
“Beautiful, huh?” Magnus’s voice was the only thing that broke the silence, and Tolys nodded, smiling.
“Very much so.” He reached for Magnus’s hand, laced their fingers together, pulled him onwards. They kept walking further into the shallow lake, and he listened to Magnus’s exclamations as he pointed out the various stars and constellations now and then. (“Look! It’s Alpha Centauri! And there’s Altair, and Canopus!”). Tolys was content to watch the stars with awestruck eyes, and only when they’d arrived back at the small hotel bedroom did he speak.
“You were right.” He was sitting on the couch, and saw Magnus glance at him curiously before answering.
“Right about what?”
“That I wouldn’t regret coming here.” Magnus grinned at him. His smile looked brighter than the stars above, and he had to smile back.
“See? I told you you’d come around. It’s too beautiful not to like.”
“Yes, and you were right. Thank you for bringing me here. The stars were mesmerizing, and so were you.”
