Before playing in orchestras from the late 1930s, Brain began his solo career in February 1944 when he recorded his version of Beethoven’s Horn Sonata. By 1945 Brain was the most popular horn player in England, and later became the principal horn player for the Philharmonia and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. • #normanparkinson #iconicimages #dennisbrain #britishvogue #1950sphotography #1940smusicians #1950smusicians #beethoven #philharmonia #royalphilharmonicorchestra #portraitphotography #blackandwhitephotography #eugenelacroix1 @eugenelacroix1 https://www.instagram.com/p/CAsmp13nzgd/?igshid=78khpjiuu81m
