Without ever noticing Clark won Bruce’s heart years ago but is pretty bad about noticing these things, so every time they do nice things that could be interpreted as romantic, he just assumes Bruce is doing it as his best friend. He’s had a crush on Bruce for a long time, almost since when they first met, but doesn’t want to push their relationship for fear of ruining it and losing the best friend he’s ever had.
Someone really needs to intervene. At least get Clark to notice Bruce loves him for god’s sake!
