Are you TRYING to hurt me?? Yes, of course you are. And I love it. This headcanon makes me so happy and also so sad for Enzo, but it makes so much sense. He just wants all of the things he's never had, and with Damon being the most important person in his life, he wants them from him. The idea of Damon being terrified of someone needing and wanting that kind of intimacy from him when he's used to secrets and roughness and nothing really soft only makes it better. He never wants to hurt Enzo again and he's so scared of doing it accidentally.

just letting you know that i’m pretty close to printing the post you’ve written about denzo x taylor swift so i could look at it&cry + kinda hit me today that august (even being not very much denzo song itself)…when it turned out during damon’s“summer of happiness w/elena”was still fulfilling his promise of revenge that he gave enzo, so…is it safe to say that he..he slept next to her but dreamed of him all summer long?🥺

First of all, I love that, and now I'm tempted to copy it out so I can do the same because they just make me EMOTIONAL. And oh... my god... I never even thought about but you're so right. For Damon to have remembered his promise of revenge against the Whitmores over the summer, he would've had to have at least thought about Augustine... and the fact that he made the promise... and who he made the promise to... so yes, you are completely right, "august" can be bumped up a point or two because Damon DID sleep next to Elena but dreamed of Enzo all summer long.
