pet names and endearments my ocs would use

u don't understand this is genuinely important to me.

CASPIAN: "hun," "honey," "mahal/mahal ko," "baby," "babe," "bebs." literally anything sickeningly cliche.

also the type to excessively use "my love" within two weeks of knowing the person.

HEART: "babes" mostly.

but ALSO! crazy specific nicknames based on the person's name or an inside joke. bonus point if the thing being referenced is EMBARASSING ASF.

usually defaults to "cutie" for EVERYONE.

DEONDRE: names are more intimate to him. cute, specific nicknames will b used though :> usually shorter versions of the person's name.

LEILA: something STUPID!!!

def an inside joke which leads to a dumb sounding pet name which is only really cute to her. no, she feels no shame.

CHANCE: "dear(est)," "sweetheart," "lovely," "darling."

using these in place of someone's name is the easiest thing for him. he hardly even thinks about it.

INSECTAVORA: "pretty," "sweetheart," "lovely." emphasis on pretty. she likes using that one.

VALENTINO: all. of them. esp when hes panicking.

but mostly "baby." <- it's so #default mode.

"sweetie," when he's feeling extra affectionate.

if the lyrics are filled enough rage for it to be nauseating and get screamed out without proper technique? there's no question that the person who was in charge of that song was HEART. they write songs with the intent to vent. if people aren't dying in the mosh pit while they're yelling about all the ways they've been personally wronged by people and how much that sucks, did they really do a good job?

songs like HEART's: daddy's l'il girl, bikini kill bruise violet, babes in toyland miss hell, calamity jane

if the song sounds like the artist just discovered indie music after listening to a lifetime of radio pop and got annoying about it real quick, it's probably CASPIAN's fault. the songs are always sweet in sentiment... at least, for an underdeveloped teenage brain. the type of song that you listen to when you're older and go "yikes! that's probably an unhealthy way to view love!"

are the lyrics pretty and anecdotal? is it largely acoustic? did eveything just grind to a halt for some twee bullshit? surprise! it's LEILA's song! while she doesn't choose to do most of the songs, she wrote most of gethsemane's earlier tracks and it's very clear in the way that most of them sound. she likes to keep things fun and cheeky, but there's a bit of snark to her songs. whether it's intentional or not is anyone's guess.

are you having the most fun you've had this entire setlist? is the entire band (except for heart, of course) smiling while playing the song? you're probably listening to one of the few songs that DEONDRE made! he has the most versatile taste in the group and it shows. everything he creates is filled with attention and love. and while he loves doing a feel good, he does tend seem to circle back to a common theme of feeling stuck. huh. pay no mind to that. it's probably nothing.

halloween costumes my dc ocs!

GETHSEMANE:

CASPIAN - sexy nurse costume he got 100% ironically... but ends up actually really feeling himself in. like. ok work!

he ripped the dress by the end of the night and got really sad about it.

HEART - i hate gay people halloween what do you mean you're The Substance from the movie the substance.

DEONDRE - okay so originally i put smoke from sinners but it's objectively more funny to make him mr. fantastic. bro's in the dc universe dressing as a marvel character. though he does seem like the type to have multiple costumes... both? for halloweekend perchance???

LAILA - jessica day from new girl OR daria from daria. these are all clothes she already had in her wardrobe.

JULIETTE - i hate gay people halloween what do you mean you're butch leather bat chick.

OG THREE DC:

VALENTINO - cooking mama :,> isn't that cute?? rocky joked about it but he liked the idea.

he already has the apron. guys im crying. he's adorable 2 me.

KERINA - ELABORATE ASS COSTUMES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WEEKKKKK. she makes them all herself (duh). we're talking megan thee stalion level cosplays. her costume on the day of october 31st is padmé amadala. super intricate.

ROCKY - spider-man!! again!!!! funny becuz hehe dc oc dressed as a marvel character. how do u know miles morales. what are the implications.

OTHER DC:

CHANCE - lestat de lioncourt because it's my dolly and i dress him how i please. also because he was a FAT part of character inspo and ik chance loves vampires.

probably the tom cruise version because i DOUBT he's heard of the new one (deprived of peak </3)

INSECTAVORA - i have MULTIPLE FOR HER HOLD ON. elaine from the love witch. cassandra from resident evil. pearl from pearl. lola lola from the blue angel. probably the last one.

THE CABARET BOYS - all of them are johnathan harker. all of them are flirting with hot people dressed like vampires and asking to be bitten.

THE CABARET GIRLS - there are too many of them but trust i have a costume for each. group costume could be like... bugs. it would be cute. they force insectavora to be a spider cuz... duh.

NICKY - a ghost. haha get it.

HEART is the guy who rarely shows up to lectures... and if he does? he leaves in the middle of them. not even subtly, they're packing that bag loud as FUCK. also the one who's literally lost thousands to quizlet subscriptions that they keep forgetting to cancel. take away their credit card omfg.

CASPIAN is the one dude who keeps bumping into things super loudly in the quiet section of the library. goes "yikes!" or "shit—" not-so-silently to himself every time. additionally, he's the super enthusiastic upper year who's chatting with first years during welcome week, telling all of them to pirate the textbooks.

DEONDRE's the classmate who is hellbent on splitting group assignments in an organized and even way. will carry with a beautifully made canva every single time. also the guy who always has a fire outfit every single sighting — you can never catch him wearing something without intention.

LAILA's the type of girl who speedwalks through crowd to get to class with a tote bag on her shoulder, a beverage in hand, headphones always on, chewing gum loud asf. she's never late to classes, she's never even been close to late. she makes going that speed look casual. also the early morning commuter who's napping on the bus, but somehow, has never missed her stop.

CASPIAN already talks too much. but i firmly believe he used to talk EVEN MOREE. how is that possible? idk!! to his mother's horror, he was the type to casually spill family secrets or too much info and then do a cartwheel after. at least he was friendly as a kid, even if he did have issues talking to strangers. (like... if his mom brought him to a grocery store? he's saying hi to EVERYONEEE).

DEONDRE was a sensitive kid. the type who would scream and cry at other kids for being mean to bugs and other small animals at recess. probably also the type to spend time in the library lots — takes out lots of books, but fights for his LIFE to remember to return them on time. also. definitely collected pokemon cards, but was too nice and gullible to realize the older kids were giving him bad trades </3

HEART was the type to tell kids like caspian that santa's not real to shut them up. i think they had difficulty with keeping friends a lot of the time — very good at finding things to argue about, without much thought or remorse for the outcome — but they didn't exactly grow up lonely. labelled a problem child by most of their teachers due to their issues with literally any authority figures, but had one they loved vv dearly. it was probably an english teacher.

LAILA was reserved and decently polite but not exactly shy. i think that a lot of adults in her life assumed she was a shy kid, but for the times she did speak? her bluntness made it clear that she just didn't find any reasons to speak. her disinterest in social connections got her labelled as cold most of the time — but she didn't see why. why speak if you don't have anything of value to say, right? carried a sketchbook everywhere and drew anime characters in it.
