me, bolting awake at two in the morning: the reason dega is so fucking awestruck when papillon tries to come back and save him is because everyone close to him has betrayed and left him, his wife left him for his lawyer, his father abused him, and it seems like papillon is going to abandon him too, but he doesn’t, this guy who probably has the most reasons to abandon him refuses to do so, no fucking wonder he looks at papi like the sun rises and sets with him,
