I wonder who would win in a race between a roman general on chariot vs a cowboy on horseback? Also happy pride!
I PROMISE HE'S USUALLY NOT LIKE THIS
King Ahkmenrah x Gender Neutral Reader
synopsis: A new exhibit has been unveiled at the museum, and it brings out Ahkmenrah's clingy and possessive side.
The museum had always been busy around your exhibit. Children pressed their palms to the glass, breath fogging the surface as they stared in awe. Adults lingered longer than they intended, reading the placard twice, craning their necks as if expecting you to move even before nightfall. You were part of a royal lineage, after all. An artifact that felt alive, even with your coffin sealed tight.
Ahkmenrah always joked about it.
“They adore you,” he’d said one evening as you walked the halls together, hands loosely entwined. His tone had been amused, fond rather than bitter. “If I were a lesser king, I might feel threatened.”
You laughed, bumping your shoulder into his. “You? Threatened? Please.”
Your pharaoh was beloved. Not just because he possessed the tablet that brought the museum to life, but because he ruled with kindness rather than fear. He listened. He compromised. He laughed easily and treated emperors and cowboys alike as equals.
That was why no one expected what came next.
[10/25] your character’s the whole plot of the movie but i can count all your lines on two hands over the whole trilogy
once i put paint on this brush- ion know what the fuck im doing

rami malek in night at the museum: secret of the tomb (2014)
"My Love"
Summary: Ahkmenrah's lover/wife was buried in the tomb when CJ stumbled into it. 4,000 years later they meet again.
Notes: I have a headcannon that while not affected by the tablet exibts (that have woken up before) would be in a sort of speed up sleep paralysis. Aware of some things, but not much. If the text is written like this, it's in ancient egyptian.
Tags: Character x Reader/OC, Headcannons, angst to fluff (Reunion), mention of death, No use of Y/N, still new writer, maybe part two🤷♀️
Edit: There is a part two and three to this story, it's linked here and here

Ahkmenrah wasn't prepared for the last time he'd see his wife. It was just like any other night, the two kissed goodnight, helped each other with their mummy raps, and climbed back into their own sarcophagus. It was the morning that was different. When a young boy had fallen into their tomb it caused a sort of cave-in, one was the large gaping hole in the ceiling, and the other was further in, less obvious, but it ended up covering the last sarcophagus and the treasures surrounding it.
It wasn't until he awoke at Cambridge University that Ahk even truly knew she was gone.
Over the next 14 years, Ahk's grief slowly got more bearable with the vast knowledge he'd thrown himself into distracting him. Even so, nothing filled his heart like she had.
But once again life had other plans and due to budget cuts, Ahkmenrah was sold to the Museum of Natural History and was on the move again. It was less than a day before Ahk arrived at the museum, but with unknown factors about the exhibit, Ahk and his sarcophagus weren't put on display until a few days later.
Finally ready to escape the cramped metal casket, Ahk pushed on the lid of his sarcophagus only to find a heavy resistance, and a little metal clink indicating that there was a latch he was pushing against.
With a panicked yell, Ahkmenrah pounded his fists against the cold metal, trying to grab someone's attention. His secret being revealed was the least of his worries. But alas, the night guard was busy being chased up and down the halls by lions, tigers and bears.
This became a rhythm of sorts for the next 54 years of Ahk's life with the occasional taunt from one of the three night guards. This routine had a wrench thrown in it when the night guards had attempted to steal Ahk’s tablet, and Larry, -Guardian of Brooklyn- had to have his help restoring the museum.
That night was particularly hard on Ahkmenrah because of how fast everything clicked by, not giving the pharaoh any time to fully comprehend the situation at hand. Getting back in the sarcophagus was even worse. It took nearly 15 minutes of Larry swearing up and down to let him back out before Ahk even put his bandages back on.
Now everything had gotten easier with a couple years put between Ahk and the tablet nearly being stolen. However, that never stopped him from continuing to mourn his lost lover, who was over 5,500 miles away, buried in sand.
But a fateful twist yanked away his suffering when Larry had told Ahkmenrah that they’d found another section of his tomb, and they were getting a shipment.
The next days of waiting were pure torture. Ahk walking up and down the length of his exhibit and constantly bugging Larry about when it would arrive.
When it did, Ahk was surprised with no large boxes. Just crates with trinkets and a few mummified animals.
Everyone could feel Ahkmenrah’s total shut down, although he hadn’t explained what could possibly be causing it. Over the course of the next few nights, no one was allowed in the Pharaoh’s exhibit. The large Anubis guards stopped them in their tracks. To anyone who could look past the guards, they’d see Ahk, sitting in the same place on the floor, stroking a cat.
So when Larry was told about a second expansion, he refused to tell the Pharaoh. Not until the night after everything was put up. Larry wasn't sure how much the pharaoh -or anybody for that matter- was aware of during the day, so he came by as an attempt to comfort Ahk about whatever it was that got him so worked up.
Ahk unwrapped the cloth around his face, sitting up with a small thank you to Larry. He started to climb out when something gold caught his eye.
It was a sarcophagous. It was a little smaller than his own, a little more dusty. Ahk's heart leapt into his throat. Was it really her? His queen?
Ignoring Larry, the pharaoh leapt to the golden box, and unlatched the sides. He nearly died for the second time when the tablet shone brightly and someone pushed on the lid of the fancy coffin.
Now sitting up right was a gorgeous woman. With jet black hair, and traditional Egyptian style makeup. Most importantly, she had delicate eyes that when met with Ahkmenrah's, welled with tears.
The pair practically dove for the other. Incasing one another in a tight hug. The woman peppered Ahk's face with kisses as intense sobs filled the air.
Larry was completely lost. He had an idea about the reunion at hand but was truly clueless. So he simply walked out. Leaving the pair to their face sucking.
"Oh my love. How I've missed you." Ahk's voice filled the room in its accent dialect.
Like a movie, she just responded, "Never again shall we part, my King."
Tiny parade!
