Greer and Logan had stayed in touch while Austin was deployed. In fact, their friendship probably grew even stronger because of the bond they shared, worrying together over him and counting down the days until he came home. Whenever one of them hadn’t heard from him in a day or so, they’d reach out and check with the other. It was usually never an issue, but there were still times it happened. Honestly, without his little sister there in his absence, Greer didn’t entirely know if she could’ve handled it all. Now that he was home, Greer wanted to make sure she kept up her friendship with Logan, knowing it’d crush her if they grew apart now.
Greer had texted Logan to meet her at Norma’s that afternoon for some ice cream, wanting to catch up on the whirlwind that was the first week of Austin being home. When she spotted the familiar face walk in through the door, Greer jumped up and ran over, pulling Logan into a big hug. “Hey pretty lady,” she greeted her friend. “I figured we’d sneak in some girl time while Austin’s lazy butt sleeps off that jet lag. Ice cream’s on me, by the way, so get whatever you want. We can totally pig out and then walk it off around the square if we have to.”
