I’ve been sitting on this beer for 7 years. 👀 What a great experience and journey! I picked up this beer back in 2011 after moving to Milwaukee, WI. At $17.99 for a 12.7oz bottle of Imperial Stout aged in #BuffaloTraceBarrels it was a gamble... A fairly unknown Danish “Gypsy” Brewer (Mikkeller) brews an imperial stout above 19%abv and then acquired Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels from Kentucky, USA to age the enormous beer brewed in Belgium at #deproefbrouwerij, before bottling with champagne yeast. I had tagged this beer in my cellar for a long haul of 10yrs of aging before cracking the bottle. With the high abv%, I figured the beer could withstand the test of time. Tonight, I pulled the plug early and decided to imbibe on this luscious liquid. Let’s just say I wish I had invested in a case.
