Couldn’t send you a message but that post about how games build up a utopia and then proceed to have the same shitty behaviour yes. I remember my mate saying he couldn’t play mass effect as femshep because it was so fucking bad every time he’d walk into a room someone would flirt with him or be like “Oh what can Shepard” do and undermine his character whilst also operating under the guise of “Its the future no petty issues like sexism lol” thank you for conveying it because DA does the same 👌🏽

And yeah it feels like these moments, like that or the thing from swtor with tht guy on Quesh I guess are put in like ‘Hey isn’t this an empowering moment, look you get to own this random sexist’ but like... it’s not really

Especially in universes that imply ‘women in combat’ isn’t that weird so like the random sexist douche just sticks out in the wrong way?
