Day 15, talking #stretch, well, normally you're supposed to do this before bouts, but when your leg hurting, you gotta stretch that mess out #BAbetties #derbyworkoutchallenge (at Northport, Alabama)
Moving on to day 14, and we're talking #laps, well back in February I passed my laps. Then literally the next day I sprained my ankle real good. To the point I haven't attempted it again since. I've been told recently by coach that It's not gonna count for a whole year (boooo) so I'll be retesting again soon. Hopefully with a lap increase. #derbyworkoutchallenge #BAbetties (at Northport, Alabama)
On this, the 13th day of the #BAbetties #derbyworkoutchallenge, we are discussing nutrition trackers. I've gone back and forth over the years between my fit and not so fit phases, between myfitnesspal and lose it. I've liked them both, but this challenge we're using mfp, so here we are. Plus, I can sync my fitbit with it, so that helps the dreaded exercise input. (at Northport, Alabama)
Day 12 asks the important question #WhatsInYourDerbyBag? And here I am to answer. You would all be surprised to know, there's #derby gear, enough braces to reinforce at limp noodle, towels to mop up ALL the sweat, tools to keep me and my teammates rolling, and duct tape. Literally nothing more important than the duct tape. #BAbetties #derbyworkoutchallenge (at Northport, Alabama)
Welcome to day 10 of the #BAbetties #derbyworkoutchallenge, today the theme is #squats. Let me just say that squats and I have a complicated relationship. I was always real good at lifting heave things, so naturally, I did powerlifting in college. Squats got me there. Squats also got me to nationals, where I developed compartment syndrome, and required 4 operations on my leg in order to keep most of my mobility (but hey, I got that cool bracelet, so #worthit). Now, I lift much less weight, but squats are still important. They keep me strong for my team. They let me get low, and allow me to create a strong brace when necessary. All in all, like, we good, but, I'm not inviting them for Christmas dinner. (at Northport, Alabama)
So day 4 is your favorite #fitspo picture. I'm not really the biggest fan of fitspo tbh, it's real easy for me to get lost in the cliche messages and the ridiculously fit folks in them, then just rage quit the whole thing. Instead, I like this pic of my team during a bout, with basically my favorite thing to yell at practice. Past me is the only person I'm really looking to beat. #BAbetties #derbyworkoutchallenge #theoneandonly #dcd (at Northport, Alabama)
