One Way or Another

It was almost barbaric, this tradition of finding your mate and just... Well making them yours despite not even knowing them. It kind of made Derek grumpier than normal, but there wasn't anything he could do to change it. He was the Alpha now and the only one left of his bear family. So he needed a mate and that meant he had to go through this whole process. Deep down he knew his instincts were to blame because if he had a choice, he'd have rather court someone. Too late now. Now he was being told the rules and safety precautions. Derek didn't really care about the fact he could get hurt, he mostly cared he'd be hurting someone. He huffed a sigh through his nose as he was lead to his starting point. The scent placed there was meant to draw out the beast within and it was doing it's job. A growl tore out of Derek's throat when the signal to go was given. Then he was off at a full run, instinct having taken over to follow the sweet smell of his soon to be mate. { @shapeshiftingtexan }

( @ivegotbrawnandbrains ) It was not a known fact that Derek Hale was an Omega. That's why he had built a new 'Hale House' in the most remote part of the Preserve with the perfect view of the river from his master bedroom. It was a quaint cabin that he enjoyed when heats came around. Today was day one of his heat, he could tell as his heart was a little faster and his body was about 10 degrees hotter than normal. He couldn't smell himself but judging by the already moist feeling in his boxers, he probably smelled pretty good. That alone should have made him want to stay inside but since the only Alpha's he knew of were busy, Derek felt safe enough to go out to the river for a swim. Besides the water would lessen his scent and the heat making him want to walk around naked. So out he went to the river, taking the longest path. Once there, Derek stripped to nothing and waded in. The water sent chills up his spine before he dove right in. Twenty minutes went by before Derek climbed out. The air made goosebumps prickle across his skin but that wasn't the only thin effecting him. The strong masculine scent of Alpha seemed to be close. Too close. Derek was about to forget his clothes and run when he felt strong, semi familiar arms around his waist and warm lips press to his neck. A soft sniff of the air tells him it's Owen and Derek can't help but press back a little. "Stalking me, Singrave?" He rumbles out softly.

Knocking. It’s a fundamental part of living in a house with more than one person. You’d think by now Derek would remember. Especially since he had been the one to bring up the rule in the first place. He didn’t need either of his uncles walking into his room when he was... busy.

But the rule was far from his mind as his hand wrapped around the door knob to Peter’s room. He had a question, one poised by Scott’s little band of misfits and he needed an answer from someone who thought like Peter. He swung the door open, mouth opening to start a sentence that quickly died at what he saw.

Derek had to blink a little to allow time for his brain to process the scents of his uncles, sweat and... sex. That explains a lot, he thought as he couldn’t pull his eyes away. He made a soft noise to half announce his arrival and to try and hide his own confusing semi hard on. “I, uhm, I should have knocked,” he said lamely. Still trying to tear his eyes away.

theadoptedhale It happened so fast. Like one second everything was bright and easy and the next… Darkness, despair, agony. Peter was gone. Not buried under the floorboards or in coma gone, but dead. Derek is pretty sure a piece of him died with his uncle. He’s pretty sure a chunk of his heart and all of the bandages Peter had placed to keep him together had just been ripped out. And everyone knew. Everyone knew because big bad Derek Hale… Was crying. He was on his knees, clutching the ground as silent sobs wracked his body. The only person to love him inside and out was gone. He was alone… Again. If Derek had been a people type of person he’d have gone to the local pub to get drunk downtown but instead he went to his uncles, no now his, estate and drank almost every last bottle he could find. Including the two wolfsbane laced ones, making it easier to be almost stumbling drunk when there was a ring to the doorbell. “Who tha fuck is at tha door?” He slurred as it took him three tries to get it open without smacking himself in the face. His eyes widened into the size of dinner plates when he saw the man. “P-Peter…” The tears were back and Derek wasted no time grabbing his shirt and pulling him into his arms. “Peter,” he hiccuped, “I knew it was a lie. I knew it. I love you, please don’t do that again. Don’t leave me again.” Derek cupped his uncle’s doppelgänger’s face and kissed him roughly, all teeth and tongue desperate for anything and everything. “I need you. Please,” he begged, hands already fumbling to open clothes.

killerqueenpetrova Derek wanted nothing more than to go back to his cell and pretend he didn't exist but unfortunately that wasn't allowed yet as he was part of the auction taking place today. He frowned and puffed himself up at any vampire that looked at him too long. No one would want a fighter from this crowd and he was sure he was safe until a woman stopped. He didn't have the mannerisms to treat her like the male vampires. So he simply tried to make her uncomfortable by staring at her. He'd be damned if some brunette took him home like a prize.

Five months, that’s how long Derek and Crowley have been living together. What started rocky and unsure was slowly turning into something that made Derek the happiest he’s ever been. Sure, right now is hard to build a relationship since Crowley’s hormones were all over the place but Derek didn’t mind. Especially when Crowley’s hormones made him smell irresistible. Today,  Derek had spent his morning working in his study after he had made breakfast for himself and Crowley. It was almost lunch time when he heard someone knock on the door to his study. “You don’t have to knock Crowley,” he called with a grin as he leaned back in his chair. And took a soft whiff of the air “Lunch time already?” Derek asked as he watched the 5 month along Omega walk in.

Everything has a Price | Derek/Crowley

Auction locations stunk. At least they did to Derek. He normally did really well avoiding these situations but now he was stuck and no amount of jaw snapping and growling and blood shed could get him loose. He was chained and set up to look appealing to the vultures sitting around the front of the "stage".

As he heard the introduction of himself, Derek snarled softly. He was suddenly chained to a new location with people watching him closely. He didn't like this, didn't like how exposed he felt. The bids were ridiculous but he should have expected them. He wasn't just any hell hound. He was a special one and apparently that meant people were going to frenzy.

Derek coward slightly at the look of some people when they bid. He was doomed until he heard a voice that made a shiver run up his spine. A voice rough but silky. It called to him in an odd way.

Hunters. It was always hunters. Sometimes it was exasperating how often Derek had to avoid hunters, especially ones that don't know how the dynamic works in Beacon Hills. Which is exactly who these hunters were. They were experienced but ignorant to the way this town worked. So Derek took precautions.

He'd had his house enchanted after it was rebuilt. It was supposed to look old and abandoned when all the lights were out to make hunters wary of entering the decrepit looking house. Most of them stayed away. Actually almost all threats stayed away. Except tonight. As he waited for the hunters to pass, he heard someone burst into the house. Their frantic heartbeat told him they were trying to hide. So Derek stayed low and just waited.

As he watched the hunters run right past, Derek sighed softly. Now he had to deal with whatever creature had just fell into his home. He took careful footsteps, appearing in a doorway close to the front door. The man looked terrified and tired. It made Derek frown a little. He turned on a light so he could see him better. "Don't run," he said slowly as he held his hands up to show he wasn't a threat. "It's not safe yet. Are you hurt?"
