@ivegotbrawnandbrains He's used to Owen getting home late. It's part of his mate's job. The impossibly long hours at the most inopportune times. Like Christmas Eve. But Isaac didn't mind, Christmas had always been just a day to him. Sure the decorations were pretty and they had plenty of fun making a mess with cookies but it still felt mostly normal to him. Not like a holiday at all. Well except the waiting up in the living room part. Staring at the giant tree covered in lights and ornaments seemed to make Isaac tired. Normally he could stay awake to wait for Owen and he had a really important reason to stay awake too. In a way it was the only 'gift' that mattered to Isaac and he had to give it to Owen as soon as he got home. But those lights, the fire, the soft music... Isaac was asleep before he even realized it and well before Owen's car finally came ambling down the long driveway.
