Holy damn, whoever said immigration was easy was clearly cray cray. But honestly, never had I thought it would be this hard. My mum had gotten a friend, the brother of a childhood friend almost sister she had, she had trusted him to help us find jobs and a place to stay. He did literally promise all those things, said it was easy and would let us stay in his house, my mum even told him she wouldn’t mind pay him the room and he told her to not worry about it.
It all seemed pretty easy, until we arrived at Manchester airport on Thursday morning. Mind you that I was already extremely emotional and hadn’t slept that night because of the plane ride and of the goodbyes I had to say. My dog made it harder with his sad little eyes looking at me, understanding that I was leaving.
Either way that guy came to pick us up at the airport and left us on a literal dumbster of a room on the outskirts of Blackpool and left. He literally forced us to stay in that room. Like I was close to telling him to fuck off. So everything that he had promised was literally a lie. We had no job and were in a room that was close to falling and didn’t smell all that well. Nor did it have any sheets or pillows or anything so me and my mum ended up walking 2/3 miles to the city centre, mind you that we didn’t know the city at all.
A day had passed with my mum depressed because she literally had fell into a trap and doesn’t have anything to come back to. She quit her job, gave away the house and selled all the furniture we had. So then we called my aunt and older sister, who has been in England since March, and they have contacted another childhood friend who lives in Liverpool.
So now here I am, that friend helped us and we are staying two nights in a small hotel room, £20 per night because he spoken to his boss about our situation. And we had to walk through Blackpool with our huge bags to get a train, I have way too many blisters on my hands and feet.
New problem: money is running out way too quickly and we still need to find a permanent-ish room to stay in for 2 months and of course find a job.
But throughout all these complications I am honestly loving this adventure, yes everything is very different from my own country but I am learning new things and am really living and visiting new places.
You all probably don’t care much but I decided to give you a quick update of my life and well if you’re thinking about immigrating make sure you plan everything very well first.
I love you all and miss being on tumblr and hopefully everything will be better next week and I’ll be able to buy a laptop soon 💜
