♟Baxter Ward from Our Life: Beginnings and Always♟
ASLKDJAKSL AAAHHHH UGH THIS MAN HAS HAD ME IN A CHOKEHOLD UGH!! Its not even the first time I've played his dlc. I was there when it first came out ToT. Honestly tho, I also enjoyed him as a character, along with the other characters in the game. I don't have a lot of experience writing so take my opinion as an opinion!! I think tragic characters with tragic pasts are eh. It feels kind of lazy when you have to rely on comically tragic events and/or comically evil people to build a backstory for someone. That doesn't mean it doesn't have its place but those aren't prerequisites to build an empathetic and tragic character. Because of that, I think that's why I feel so engaged with baxter as a character. OLBA does a good job of applying this idea to a lot of it's other characters, which makes sense as it isn't meant to be a serious and dramatic game. Rather, I enjoy its idea of appreciating the small joys in life C: I guess you could tell I'm a slice of life enjoyer lol but I think webtoons and kdramas kinda move away from this idea. A story that I love that I feel like follows this idea somewhat as well is Maru is a Puppy! It's cute and doesn't hinge on romance to engage you to it's characters :3
