Some various sketches i did on my phone. Featuring some concept art for a series of ships and their ai meant to explore deep space that all derelicted due to a fatal flaw present within the entire line. Im taking some inspiration from the e-series robots from sonic, proximate, as well signalis.
Most of the ships had human pilots, and the ship's ai's are self aware. Many of the ships formed close connections with their pilots and some even got incredibly intimate. Unfortunately, all of the ships had to witness their human's slow rotting away and eventual death due to the ships being unable to return from deepspace.
I aim to explore not only the many different relationships the ships have with eachother as well as their human's, and the slow decline and rot of the psyche and physical form of them both.
Ive just been calling it Derelictism so far.
