N7, I have a question for you as the most prolific Fanfic writer I follow. Are there any stories or fics idea you have that you would really like to write but haven't tackled? Like a White Whale? If so, what is it, and why haven't you? Or do you literally write all of the ideas?

You know what sure, I'll tell y'all about the horniest fic I'll never write XD NSFW warning under the cut.

This fic idea started as a joke based off of the classic "magicats have a heat" thing. My idea was what if you flipped it and FIRST ONES have a heat so Adora is the one dealing with it. I just thought it would be funny, but then I had to build up some lore to make it not seem like she was dying, and this is where the idea ended up:

Heats have to be a known quantity on Etheria, so magicats and lycans do have heats. However, they're on the milder end like I used in SLAS, and keeping the swapped roles, Catra is trans and doesn't have to deal with them.

The explanation for when Adora goes into heat is that she must be half magicat, AKA her mom was a human woman who did a magic ritual to have a child with her magicat partner. The child will always be the species of the mother but may take on some characteristics of the father (my usual approach to making cross-species or same-sex biological children). Because she's the product of magic, some traits can get amplified and screwy and that is why hers are so bad.

Adora basically gets a flu when she's in heat. Not sniffling, but she's sweaty from horniness, tends to have a dry mouth/throat, muscle aches, trouble concentrating, super twitchy, etc. Because of this she literally thinks she is sick the first time (Catra think she has finally snapped and is having a breakdown even though she can tell how horny she is) and Shadow Weaver ends up figuring out what is going on and telling her the magicat parent lie even though she knows this is because she's a First One.

To "be functional" Adora starts hooking up with Catra to work through it and this is known but allowed because even Shadow Weaver doesn't know what will happen to her if she doesn't satisfy the heat.

The fic starts after the war, and it's the classic "hooking up while fighting" because She-ra is mostly-immune to the bad effects of the heat but Catra can still detect the hormones, so whenever it happens they run off in battle together, Adora drops the transformation and they hook up, and then they go back and (try to) fight like nothing happened. Sometimes they agree to meet up again the next few nights at the edge of the woods "to help Adora work through it". Obviously they do it because they're both in love, but Adora literally needs it and Catra needs to feel like Adora needs and wants her. She's not running to anyone else in Rebellion for help so Catra will keep taking her as long as she'll let her be there.

After the portal, they barely see each other, and when Adora's heat "schedule" comes, Catra sets a camera trap at their meeting spot in woods. If Adora showed up Catra would have too. Adora doesn't show up. Catra crashes out hard about Adora finding someone else in the Rebellion to help her heat instead. Adora's heat just didn't come from stress (something magicats don't have happen but by now she knows she's a First One) and she didn't think Catra would have helped her anymore anyway.

After being on Darla, Adora's overdue heat triggers from being in close proximity to Catra. So they spend the entire time in space fucking, even longer than the heat should be lasting.

One night at camp after they're back, they sneak out because Catra is trying to convince Adora not to kill herself in private and they end up kissing for the first time outside of her heat but they fight and Adora doesn't change her mind, which leads to Catra leaving.

End of the world goes pretty similarly because they're both still convinced it's either just physical or like. Fleeting emotions not eternal love (it's eternal love). And then they fuck forever.

Anyway I'm never writing it because 1) This idea is several years old but still from post-smut burnout, 2) I love when they're fucking as enemies but heat stuff is ehhhh for me so writing a bunch of it again post-OTOS where I got it out of my system doesn't really interest me, 3) The premise involves them becoming sexually active underage and even though that's not shown in the fic and normal, it's also ehhhh for me. But y'all can know about it XD

I saw you latest art of Astrel, and, enchanting, but also, do they have like... pubic hair, or pubic feathers? I am can't believe (I can) that's what I fixate on, but I simply can't not know now.

Tbh, I didnt think much (as one would say about me) but I would think it's feathers, yknow those small feathers, her happy trails are hair thats for sure

In support of your theory. The article from variety about the deal says this "The Mighty Nein adventuring party — a band of criminals and misfits — are the only ones who can prevent the kingdom from plunging into chaos when an arcane artifact capable of reshaping reality falls into the wrong hands." This makes me think that they will get their hands on the beacon in the first season. Unfortunately, that's alot of ground to cover in the the first season... Maybe it will be longer or they will remove stuff like the circus and Alfield? My assumption is that we get more episodes a season or more seasons like you mentioned. I mean I know animated shows can be produced faster so maybe we could get 7 seasons before their exclusive deal is up.

I just went through the episode list again and I will say that my personal ideal layout of The Mighty Nein animated would be eight seasons. Do I think it's going to happen? Eh. Who knows? Certainly not me.

I think it's more likely that we'll stick with a 12 episode/season format. And we do all really need to manage our expectations for how it's going to be presented, but for now, it's really fun to guess and make lists of things we're hoping for.

You are, like, the most prolific fic writer I know. Seriously, wow. And I have a question: I started my first fic 3 years ago and I am nearing it's completion. I have 3 sequels planned, but, I chose a really generic name for the series. What do you think about changing the name of a series/fic in the middle of the fic? I don't want it to lose steam, or confuse people who check in every chapter, but I also feel like changing the name *before* the work is finished, would be the time.

I just really want a more unique name that has more meaning and relevance to the fic. I didn't think it would be successful as it was so I didn't think about it much at the time.

Ps, seriously, you are inspiring. Love your work. I hope to join into the catradora ranks soon.

Thank you! For a series name changing, I really wouldn't worry about it and just include mention of it in a note or chapter summary. I've never actually done this so I don't know I'm the best person to give advice, but I agree doing it before finishing feels like the best call to me. I would update the title, put "Previously titled: '[insert']" in the bottom of the fic description at least until you finish it, and next time you post a chapter, put that you updated the name from [insert] in/as the chapter summary when you post it so people see right in the update email what fic this is. Maybe do that in chapter update emails going forward actually. I know I personally only keep two chapter update emails per fic: the one for the first update after I last read the fic, and the most recent one. So like if I read up through chapter 3 and the fic is at chapter 10 now, I would only keep the email for chapter 4 and 10 in my inbox, and keeping the fic name in those summaries going forward helps combat issues if you changed the fic name on chapter 7 or something. That's very extra tho, I could be the only one who handles things that way.

Hey, I love your art work for your fic, how did you make it? like where did you find all the specific pictures and how did you make it black and white?

Most of the pics are screen caps from the show, or sometimes other shows. I already have like a million pics from the 100 saved, so that was easy. You find them pretty much anywhere online, or capture them yourself on your PC if you can't find what you're looking for.

Don't limit yourself to the 100. There are plenty of great shows/movies to work from. For example I used a lot of screencaps from the show Vikings for Azgeda Clarke (aka female warrior).

For stock photos (aka hand pointing at map) go to one of the many websites that offer it. I use Adobe stock, but there's tons of sites that you can use. These sites have a monthly or per picture fee, for copy rights. You just have to do some deep dives of the search engine to find exactly what you want.

I found a lot of my non-show specific pics on Adobe Stock or Canva (which is where I make all my moodboards).

Canva has a free or paid version. I pay because it has a better selection of pics, layouts and editing features. But it took me time to graduate to all of that.

Making pics black and white can be done on a lot of photo platforms. Some, like Google Photos, are available on most PCs and/or phones. Just drop the saturation in editing mode, and you have B&W pics.

Okay, so I like love your work and I just finished Smile like a switch blade, and I'm work on Let Me Ride. I have a question about your AU magic-cats. If they have fur, how do hickies work? And also, how does blushing work? Like its when blood is visible under the skin, but Catra's got fur so how can her skin be seen when she blushes?

tricky answer tbh XD this is something that's kind of handwavey because of how much the answer varies by how you conceptualize catra's appearance and biology in your head, so buckle in. i feel like i talk about this like once a year and my answer is always Similar but not the Exact Same.

okay, Catra canonically has fur and blushes in the show, so for Cartoon Logic I just assume the fur on their faces (and other parts of their bodies) is finer/thinner which would allow blushes/hickies to show through some, but I'll be honest, I avoid picturing what magicat faces would look like outside of drawings because it seems like some creepy Cats (2019) shit (i think nate even said as much at some point, though he is notorious for saying total jokes that get taken too literally - and he definitely said that last part, i think on the blm stream? "you need to learn not to trust everything we say, we like to joke around," roughly from my memory).

how "detailed/realistic" i picture catra varies, but i never see fur on her face in my head, nor do i see a transition between where there is fur and is not. when i write, however, i refer to her having fluffy cheeks because like, her cheek tufts are observable in canon, but even following their existence i don't think every inch of her face has true fur on it and it probably thins out. I mostly think of it just as those cheek tufts even though i know that probably isn't "correct."

i generally try to mention things like blushing being observed on catra less than other characters because i do think they would be subtler with the fluff she is supposed to have. that said, catra can feel herself blushing and such, so from her pov it happens just as much as it would from adora's. and if we're talking about adora setting out to make a hickey or something, she can do that even if it's harder to see the product when she's done.

blushing is also weird, because i think for a lot of people you say that word and they picture cartoon shit (ive seen a post with a lot of notes indicating that, and have had that conception myself), but that isnt how people actually blush irl. that doesnt mean real blushing is not noticable still (generally in more than just the actual blood rush with the expression/mannerisms that accompany it, which would be just as observable on catra as others), but it is a lot more "flagged" and obvious in how it's portrayed in cartoons. it's kind of how, irl, people frown or show sadness with their eyebrows/eyes, but on the computer we convey it with :( A blush is generally pretty subtle, which is harder to convey in animation, especially simpler styles, so it ends up being just red cheeks in a cartoon and we all know exactly what that means.

tldr; catra is fluffy as a cartoon and she blushes, but she's probably less fluffy and it's less observable "in live action", and either way i just say eh. her fur is thin enough in those areas for it to be observable even if it is less noticable
