Wait SO fair about keeping things under wraps as far as what you're still on the look out for! And same for posting photos of your collection! It always does have that weird sort of "braggy" air about it, but I try to view it as being happy about what I've collected & want to thus share it with the world! Also personally, I LOVE looking at the (SPOP) collections of others, it's always so cool to see what their particular niche is! But totally heard about not wanting to come across as bragging!

I follow a youtuber who did a "confession" that she had been hiding a franchise from her viewers because she knew as soon as she posted about it she would have way more competition for getting the merch so she was waiting to talk about it until she got her grails. Girl you just didn't make a video about something you thought was cool you do not need to feel guilty for that 😂 And watching that video I immediately thought of my She-ra merch because there is some stuff I have wanted to YAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP about but I didn't want to make people more interested in it so I kept my mouth shut XD But I do want to assure I have added absolutely everything I have been able to find to the merch posts, maybe I'll start doing a yap series of single posts talking about random ones now I'm pretty happy with my collection XD When I want to yap it's a total random whim tho lol and I did get a lot of it out in some of my previous "editorials"

Yeah beyond the fact it's expensive (though I never bought something unless I knew it was a good price because I did not have the extra money to spend Extra Money yknow), there are one or two things I literally might be the only civilian with even if they aren't super exciting lmao so I don't want to seem braggy because trust me people's posts of certain things I was trying to get at the time ate me aliiiiiiiiiiiiive (well I did always Want them, but the jealousy would mostly come from people who I thought weren't appreciating them, like all the fucking he-fans with the action figures 😭) but I also LOVE to see people's collections sm and honestly would love more people to post them!! So I do want to post mine at some point but we'll have to see what I could be comfortable with because I haven't been comfortable so far lol

Also, I did not know that about the DWA warehouse, that's a great bit of information! And, literally same about being satisfied as far as where my collection is now. I would DIE to have that Media Press Kit, which is like the only thing left on my list... maybe one day!

I DO want it for sure, but as far as the merch that was inside? I have all of that individually, I just don't have the press letters themselves or the boxes. I really wanna post my full collection some time, but it's also so scattered right now and I feel weird about posting photos of my IRL space (even super zoomed in on just my shelves), so I haven't yet, but maybe I'll do it when I move? I could take photos of the main display, pack it, then move stuff from the other smaller displays in so the photos are a lot more contained to just a single white shelf... Idk, I love my collection so much and want to talk about it, but it's a balance of 1) privacy, 2) not wanting to single out what I do have - specifically to not call attention to the things I don't have that I'm still trying to get so I have less competition XD (everything I know of is in the merch posts so we can all go forth and hunt but there are certain things I'm hoping people will overlook for a bit 🫣), and 3) not wanting to flaunt (? I guess?) how much I've gotten. But hnggggggggggggg I love the merch so much and I wanna yap about it because my thoughts are endless. Wait someone asked me about alt clothes for the She-ra dolls recently and it just occured to me I might know something She-ra can wear... Okay I'm going to finish this ask and then I gotta try something LOL

Hello!! Just want to shoot you a message and say I really appreciate how thorough and extensive your archive of SPOP merch is/has become! As someone who is also always on the hunt of the rarities and oddities of She-Ra merch, it's very lovely to see someone who shares the same proclivities as me, and I often refer back to your posts every so often (every few months I'd say)! I was browsing your page today for any updates on said archive and found your posts about that strange eBay seller (cont)

Oh my god thank you for that update because I stopped posting about it but they've been SO FUCKING WEIRD continually listing it over and over again for $50 more each time with the same photos (I have all the seller photos for stuff like the statue and the action figures memorized, dw about it), I don't know, but every time they relist something I've been watching it like what the fuck are you doing 😭

Yeah so I would recommend everyone stay the fuck away from this seller lmao. Back in the day there was a guy who basically had a crate of the SDCC exclusive dolls and he'd list one for like a $20 starting bid every single week, as soon as one sold he'd put another one up with the same photos, and the final price would usually vary from like $25-45 depending who wanted to buy that week, but he presumably got them from the discount supply (since we know they were there a few years after the con) and to my knowledge he always shipped them out until he eventually ran out (he did this with multiple SDCC-exclusive items from various years so it was pretty clear he had an overstock supplier). I was starting to suspect this statue was a similar situation where they had a bunch and started listing them low just to clear them out and then raised the price based on what people were willing to pay as they got more out the door, but it's insane they were just driving the price up.

Also thank you for the other stuff fgjkfgjkfgkj Getting that mystery solved was just bewitching. I love doing the merch stuff! I really want to figure out how to set up a website that is a much better archive with more photos/details/easier browsing etc because I do have all that stuff backed up and ready to go, but I've just never had time to figure out how to set up the website itself and get the kind of gallery pages I want 😭 My own collection is near-complete for the stuff I'm actively hunting, which is so eeeeee genuinely can't believe it because there was some tough stuff to get... and then I ended up with two statues on accident lmao, but at least I KNEW what way the seller was probably "scamming" when I bought "the action figures" and was willing to accept the alternative XD There's still a couple additional things I would like and will pick up if I see them at a good price for sure, but I can be a lot chiller about merch now lol because even if there are a few things I still will fucking jump at the chance to get... I can live without everything that is left now lol. I couldn't before I would have come back to haunt Mattel if I had to

IDR what I've said about this actually?? But yes, I'm pretty certain they were in DWA's warehouse! DWA basically did an employee garage sale earlier this year to free up room where staff from other shows/departments could pick out stuff to get inventory out of the way and that matches up with so many statues hitting the market this year (though technically that was still just a hunch, I now feel certain with your verification!). It doesn't 100% confirm they were originally ordered (or in part intended) for employees because they could have just had extras they didn't end up sending out to as many reviewers as planned (and there haven't been crew hoodies entering the market, so either they all went out to crew already or the crew mementos actually weren't included in this clear out, either of which could be true), but I would bet it was planned for both a crew memento and a piece of exclusive promo merch for influencers and stuff.

I swear if I ever get to actually meet some of the crew IRL I'm going to be the only freak asking them about this stuff lol They wouldn't know anything more than we do about most of the merch (I would bet 100$ I know more about the merch than any of crew-ra, their memento of the show was fucking making it, they don't need to catalogue how many colors of hairties there were lol and they wouldn't have been involved in any of the merchandising decisions, stuff like the dolls where they sent design materials being the exception) but I neeeeeeeeeed to know about the statues, lunchboxes, lanyard, and random ass Swift Wind shirts, and I want to know who the manufacturer of the writer's room jacket was since none of the usual suspects even make bomber jackets. I literally fantasize about it. This is my special interest Within my special interest lol I'm just obsessed XD

this is actually intentional commentary on the state of art because anyone who has drawn enough pictures can tell you that whether or not the drawing is consenting to being drawn right now has a huge impact on whether or not you're able to do it.
