A flag for people who suffer from Dermatitis Artefacta. Dermatitis Artefacta is very similar to dermatillomania in that a person picks/Scratches/rubs their skin but Instead of the marks resulting from obsessive or compulsive drives due to anxiety or OCD, it is a form of self harm. Dermatitis Artefacta is often labeled and thus looked down on in the psychology field because there's a false belief that almost all cases are a result of someone with munchausens who is trying to get attention by calling it a skin rash when the more likely situation is either people on schizospec or those with ocd who don't realize their obsession with their skin is causing the damage or a person with sh tendencies who is forced to lie to hide the reason for their injuries. It's finally starting to be recognized as a genuine condition as a result of stress and mental illness rather than modern day skin based "hysteria" (most people with dermatitis Artefacta are women).

As someone who never hears about this form of self harm and lives with scars from it, it's nice to finally have a name for my issue. I've had a lot of offensive and charged comments hurled my way because the scars are not "normal" (I've had everyone assume they were anything from a bad sunburn to asking if I had AIDS.) . Sh scars are normal and should be normalized, even if they dont look the way people think they should.

I made two variants of this flag. The first is a general version of the flag and the second is an apothi- varient meant exclusively for people who have this condition/compulsion as a result of trauma or have a condition that gave them this that is a result of trauma. Ta-dah lol the colors are just meant to be a wide range of skin tones as anyone can get this condition.
