That would be pretty difficult. Yahoo cannot hide from Google’s looming shadow.
Yeah, I’m not super-knowledgeable about this kind of stuff so I’m not 100% sure how it would work. I just wish Tumblr and/or Yahoo would do something about the spambot problem because it’s been a huge problem for at least a year or more now.

Hahaha yeaahhh I know all about that. They’re starting to get pretty advanced, though.
I know. D%; Once or twice I have seen them use fandom icons (usually 90s cartoon stuff), but that was like... one or two times out of a few HUNDRED, so.
I think the reason these things exist and follow people is because if you follow someone or like/reblog their stuff, Google will pick up on that, and it’ll show up on search results, so following/liking/reblogging a lot of stuff means you’re going to show up a lot on Google.
I wonder if Tumblr could fix it so that follower lists and notes (like “______ liked this” and “______ reblogged this from ______”) don’t show up on Google searches?

Oh gosh, I know you’re not. XD;; It also helps when I hover over a username and the blog description actually sounds like something a human wrote (and not something like “Nature Photos” or “Hot Girls” or “hey i have more photos on [insert totally not-fishy URL here]”), or if fandom posts show up... when the post previews actually work.
