@uselessdevice . Leah & Violet get to fight an evil clown 🤡
Violet wasn't sure what she was looking for. Libraries had always been a safe haven for her. A place of knowledge, of answers. But answers were hard to come by when one didn't know what to ask. She had grabbed several books on hallucinations -except she didn't know if what she'd seen were hallucinations. It had sure felt real. Very real. (She shuddered.)
The sound of footsteps dragged her out of her thoughts, and she jolted -on edge. "Oh- Leah. It's just you. Hi." Violet managed a wobbly smile. Her face was even paler than usual, and there was a wild look in her eyes. Her hair, which she had tied in a ponytail with her ribbon, looked more disheveled than usual.
Violet was used to horrible things. Her parents had died in a terrible fire, and an evil, wicked man had tried to marry her. Then, there had been Uncle Monty and Aunt Josephine. Horror followed her wherever she went. But Derry... It was a different kind of fear. What she'd seen... (No, no, no. Don't think about it.)
There was something paranoid about the way she looked around before her eyes settled back on Leah. "Did you- were you..." She swallowed her saliva. "Are you looking for a book?" A stupid question, but she didn't know what else to ask. What Violet really wanted to ask was, 'Have you seen things too? Have you been hearing things?' but she worried it would make her sound crazy.
