“ Do you consider yourself an art person ??? ” Cassandra’s style was composed of a few movements and she WOULDN’T ALLOW IT to be seen by someone who wouldn’t understand at least a few of her influences. And she didn’t mind showing the NEWEST ARRIVAL OF INTEREST what she was working on if her horizons were broad enough.

they're sharing a bed together with about two feet of space between their bodies . she'd been so engrossed by something on her phone that she didn't notice sombra shivering from her end , as zarya herself felt fine and assumed nothing ( cold weather doesn't affect russians ) .
sighs . “ come here . ”
zarya sets her phone aside , then breaks the distance between them by sliding closer and pulling the large , heavy blanket over both of their bodies . her arm reaches underneath sombra and pulls her against her form , holding her like she does her favorite teddy .

there’s a pause between the two of them as zarya attempts to digest what’s just been told . falling in love - she doesn’t believe sombra could ever just settle down with someone . the anonymity , the lies , the deceit , the mind games . where would a lover fit into that sort of lifestyle ?
still , with their current status and past hookups , they couldn’t have kept avoiding the topic forever . zarya’s aware that a relationship with someone like sombra can only end in herself getting hurt so she hasn’t acted on her own feelings , as complicated as they were .
it wasn’t just the hacker’s lifestyle that made things difficult either : zarya is a soldier . her country comes first , and it’s why she’s chosen to remain single for so long . when you’re fighting in a war , there’s no guarantee if you’ll live to see the next day .
“ that’s dangerous , for both of us . ” she moves her arm to reach out and cup the side of sombra’s face with a hand . the callouses on her palm show that she’s a woman who is anything but soft , but the way she holds the other woman’s cheek is as gentle as she would be holding a baby , or a small animal . “ why me , sombra ? ”
