Hi. I was just wondering if there is any way I can replace the gradient banner with a custom image. This is with the Hello 2014 theme. Thanks!

Yes, there is a way, but you’ll have to replace the images at each of the media query breakpoints. So you’ll need five versions of your image sized for each media query. The first image = 480px wide 300px high, second image = 700px by 300px, third image = 962px by 300px, fourth image = 1140px by 300px, and the fifth image = 1568px by 300px. You can play with the height all you want, and you can change the “background-size: cover” to something else if you’d like. You can read more about background-size and what is does at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/background-size.

In the Custom CSS section (Customize -> Advanced -> Add Custom CSS) of the theme settings, you would need to add the following (replacing the URL with your new image URL):

Questions for me:

1. What is your favorite food and favorite drink?

Food: I love love love pasta. I am a sucker for anything cheese. Milk fish dishes too :)

Drink: (in a general, “above all liquids” sense) water

         (using Mr. Longman’s third definition of “drink”) plain tequila, Jose Cuervo

         (in an “I'm biased I'm a barista” sense) Almond Soy Latte

2. Are you a morning person or a night person?

Nocturnal. I hate it when I’m off to bed and all the good enough ideas come rushing in because a) I hate getting up at night when I already unfolded my blankets and everything, and b) I hate forgetting to deal with it in the morning.

3. What is your biggest fear?

Not being able to drop the lousy procrastinator in me down the road, causing all my dreams to be left undone. I just have this gut feeling that it will be my greatest downfall.

4. When was the last time you did something crazy?

I have been doing a lot of sneaking lately. Details available upon request. Lol. In short, I feel like I have forgotten how to be crazy given where I have been for the past six months. But yeah, sneaking :D

5. Is there something you look forward to in the next hours/days?

Yes! When I started answering this , I was looking forward to working again today because I had a week off and I just can't wait to get out of the house. It was worth it. I had my first espresso training. Looking forward to working a long shift on Friday night :)

6. Is there a word/phrase you repeat a lot every day?

I say "actually" a lot, especially to agree to a certain point. For example,

Mom: You are very fat

Me: Actually.

7. How would your dream house look like?

I don’t exactly have a plan yet, but if I do succeed in becoming a diplomat and someday be assigned to different posts, I want my houses to look exactly the same in all those different places. I want it that way because right now I know how it feels like to badly miss your idea of home.

I want them to have a very accommodating  making it the perfect place to gather your friends and loved ones :)

8. If I offered you a free plane ticket, what destination would you choose to fly to?

 My hometown, Manila, Philippines so that I would have a wittier answer to number 4!

It would have easily been my dream place- Santorini, Greece but the idea of flying to Glastonbury in June to see my favorite band, Coldplay along with all the British bands that I love (Arctic Monkeys, Keane, Oasis) lulls me too. :)

9. Is there a song that makes you happy every time you listen to it?

We were sitting, we were sitting at a strawberry swing~! :) - never fails to inspire me when I’m having a block.

Also Train’s Sing Together.

There is a certain sound that strings make which I really, really love.

10. If your life was turned into a movie, which actor would you choose to play you?

Michael Cera. Rather than a specific, autobiographical film, I want a movie that emphasizes my weltanschauung on my everyday frustrations. I want people to see how I deal with stuff, what got me where I am, and not just where life took me. I am not a boy trapped inside a girl's body. Michael just seems to be the  perfect choice to portray the laid back, derpy, awkward dork that I am. :D

11. Are there any lyrics that have stuck in your head lately and/or mean something to you?

And if a double-decker bus crashes into us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die.

It has been stuck on my head the entire week and while I love the sound of The Smiths (both the album and their actual sound), I've been having a lot of thoughts about professing love by associating it with death. I can't really explain the way I feel about it. God, I'm so emo or something.

With so many choices to choose from, people find it very difficult to choose at all.

The Paradox of Choice, Barry Schwartz

I realized something a couple of days back and I believe that this something is one of those petty things that keeps me from achieving the things that I want to achieve. I have heard from one of the people that I look up to that to become a leader, you need not to be the best at everything, you just need to be good in leading all the people who are the best. So maybe the reason why I keep on holding myself back is that I am still confused with what to choose between excelling and leading and I don't think that I will be strong enough to be able to juggle both.

Been learning so much, so far. :)

You know when things get too crazy and too awesome at the same time in movies and when the supporting character says "I wish things get back to normal" then the lead would reply "Define normal"? I had one in real life today.

How was LPEP Day 1? Let me describe it in three simple words- no, characters, rather: "..."

Awesome wouldn't give it justice. Super energy draining though. God knows how many times I said the terms "Aira Lheiz Aquino", "diplomat", "Mayday Parade" and "Don Bosco Manila". I must say, though, that I'm starting to find myself here <3 St. John Baptist De La Salle's Life is very inspiring.

I have learned a lot today- about myself mostly. I saw how much I have been wanting to do something bigger than myself. I saw how much I was hurting people because of my tendency to become selfish and conceited. I'm sorry for all the people I've hurt. I really am :>

I was inspired to embrace myself- to forget every denial that I keep on pounding on my mind. 

I just want things to be really awesome. No pressure of some sort. Just me, proving to myself that I am capable of living my dreams and to be the servant leader that I have been wanting to be :)

Belle from Beauty and the Beast

I admire how much she would risk everything to save her father. I love how smart she is and how she love books and reading. I also admire her for believing in what the beast can do in spite of his outer appearance.

When I was in Grade 2, I portrayed Belle for a book parade in school hahahaha. =))

Fa Mulan from Mulan

I wish I could love my father as much as she loved hers. I wish I could be as brave as her and find someone who would see me as a girl worth fighting for. Lol, when I was about five or six, I used to play this movie on VHS for about three times a day. 

Princess Jasmine from Alladin

"Do you trust me?"

Last night, I watched this film with my sister and I literally fell in love with this scene. Sometimes I wish I could have the heart to jump into the moment like her.
