I lobe class of 09😸
I'm in the strongest writing mood I've had in a while AND I'M AT WORK.
I'm also thinking about rewriting in the meantime because it'll be less work than trying to hop back in where I left off...Choosing Hadie was the first fic I'd written in over a decade and it shows.
But I'm going to wager a guess that people would rather I finish Auradon's Reinassance before cycling back 😅
46 on the prompt list with Jaylos after the school security catches them doing something there not supposed to, cause you know bad habits die hard
Thanks for the ask @blue-freckels! I'm struggling a bit with my writing as of late, so I'm sorry I'm a little behind. But I hope you like this drabble for your "You’re a Tourney (football) player, how are you so exhausted from running?" prompt!
---
"Jay, come on!"
Carlos' voice sounds distant, muffled by the shirt that's still halfway over his head. It's awkward to run like that and he's stumbling over his feet, but somehow he still manages to pull away from Jay.
"I'm...right behind you!"
Jay's breathless and panting already, and his lungs feel like they're going to burst. But before he can even think of slowing down, a pale glowing of flashlights bursts through the trees behind him, followed by the growing din of guards shouting and crunching footsteps.
"Shit."
A hand circles Jay's wrist then, and he's yanked forward suddenly, throwing his balance and sending him tumbling. He lands with a soft thud on the turf, an unexpected cold rush of air instantly breezing his thighs and making him shiver.
"Fuck, Jay. Your pants! Get-grab them! We have to move!"
Carlos tugs his wrist again, pausing only long enough to let Jay hook a finger into his belt loop before pulling him to his feet. They sprint away as the shouts get louder, Carlos struggling with every step to keep Jay from dragging into the thick fabric at his heels. But Jay can barely make it another minute before he's fighting for his breath again.
"C...I can't. We-stop," he wheezes, forcing his feet to drag. "Just let me go. You can still make it."
Carlos shakes his head dismissively, refusing to slow his pace. He tightens his grip on Jay instead and spins on his heel, turning them sharply around the corner as they pass the locker room entrances.
"C! Why-yiiiiii!"
Carlos falls back unexpectedly, pulling Jay on top of him. Carlos' back slams against a steel door just a few feet into the building, effectively stopping their stumbling and hiding them from view in the shadows of the doorway. He clutches for Jay's shirt, fisting it in his hands and pulling him in close while uttering a faint "Shhh" just loud enough for Jay to catch.
They still in that position for what feels like an eternity, listening intently until the loud stomping of the security guards can finally be heard rushing past their hiding spot. Carlos breathes out a sigh then, smiling up at Jay.
"Thank evil, that was so close!" Jay smiles back at him, and Carlos perks a brow, his smile fading to a knowing smirk. "So, Mr. Tourney player, how is it that you're so exhausted from running? It's never been that hard to save your ass before."
"Save my ass?? I don't remember you ever having to do that. Ever!"
Carlos scoffs, shoving Jay off of him. He glances down then, chuckling at Jay's pants still halfway down his thighs.
"True. But I've never caught you with your pants down either, have I?"
Jay snorts, flicking at Carlos' exposed stomach. His shirt is still ridden up, barely covering the lower half of his torso.
"I could say the same about you couldn't I?" he quips, giving Carlos a teasing wink. "But I won't, cause I definitely want to do that again sometime."
Carlos rolls his eyes at that, catching Jay's hand in his and intertwining their fingers.
"You think I'd risk getting caught like that again just for a little public PDA with you?" he chuckles as he guides Jay back to the path.
"You better, C. You're my good luck charm, remember?"
He leans in to plant a quick kiss on Carlos' cheek, and grins when Carlos starts blushing furiously.
"And I guess if I'm so bad at running, I need all the luck I can get, don't I?'

I want to be an important character who lives in a boarding school with her best friends and has to figure out how to control my magic powers, or expose a dirty school secret, or solve a school mystery then expose a secret. What I’m saying is: Fuck everyone who participated in these movies/shows/books and made my expectations higher than my IQ
