INTRODUCING  A  DESCENDANTS  DASH  EVENT

The wedding between King Ben and Lady Mal is an event that’s stolen attention for months, rumors and speculation about the ceremony traveling through every kingdom on the trails of the invitations. Their wedding marks an unprecedented reunification of Auradon and the Isle - of Heroes and Villains, and is being lauded as the first chapter in a new story.

But not everyone is so happy. There are dissenters that will never fall silent, villains that won’t change their ways, and threats beyond the shores of Auradon more than willing to use the festivities as a cover for their own fiendish goals.

From attacking Jacqueline Sparrow’s ship out at sea to capturing one of the ships that reports to Elizabeth Swann on Shipwreck Isle, trouble’s been brewing out of sight of the excited party planners, the only signs of danger for them a lack of supplies arriving on time and strange objects floating ashore.

The wedding day arrives and all eyes are on the happy couple, wanting an excuse to celebrate and share in their happiness or ready to nitpick at any flaw, determined to use anything less than perfect as a source of mockery. In the history of the United Kingdoms of Auradon, there have been few moments of greater distraction.

Wedding bells chime and Fairy Godmother announces the king and his bride, the new Queen of Auradon. As they leave side by side from the place where Ben was first crowned King, the outside forces attack.

A fleet of ships led by the Tsaritsa takes advantage of the scarcely watched harbor and the spies that managed to sneak their way in on other ships with false identities turn on the people that dared think of them as new friends. These ships are powerful, with canons that don’t seem quite normal, and their fighters tear through anything in their path. Someone stole their flagship and insults like that aren’t taken lightly.

The invaders are strong, but they could grow stronger still. Fairy Godmother’s wand. Maleficent’s scepter. These are items that have been used before to cause trouble and they aren’t the only objects of power just wanting to be seized.

The wedding is over and now comes the reception, an event held at the end of a red carpet made of blood.

This event will start at the beginning of August, Friday the 13th, at midnight GMT. Your muses are not to know anything about the invasion or have any idea of what’s coming, but they could have noticed strange faces around or be confused about other warning signs. Their focus should be on the wedding until the start of the event, then they may choose their actions.

This is going to be a highly interactive event that will feature randomized outcomes if you choose to partake. You have the choice of having your muse interact in the fighting, be it on the side of Auradon or as part of a villain uprising taking advantage of the chaos. If you choose to have your muse fight, you can also select how badly they’re allowed to be injured on a scale of one to five*, with five being the worst. 

The invaders (or the villain forces) and the defenders of Auradon will clash at various locations around Auradon and the Isle of the Lost. A generator will determine how badly the location is damaged, what damage the participating muses incur, and which side wins. Muses can engage in repeat battles until they reach their maximum injury level and a new fight will be released daily. 

The event will run from August 13th-22nd and the outcome of this event will help shape future events.   —   06:   WONDERLAND   REVELRIES

Even in a world of fairytales, Wonderland clings to a shroud of mystery that goes beyond that of any other. Tucked away in what many consider another dimension, you could walk the ends of the earth and never find it, not unless you’re chosen to.

In honor of the summer solstice, the White Queen of Wonderland is hosting an extravagant party and courtesy of Lily Marmoreal, those invitations reach far beyond the population of Wonderland. The festivities are open to those of Auradon as long as they’re curious enough to fall into a realm that doesn’t always play by their rules.

There are four paths into Wonderland, none of which are marked on a map and all of them leave you in different places in Wonderland. There is the Mirror Maze of the Winter Keep, the Rabbit Hole of the Summerlands, the Reflecting Pool of Auradon, and the Misty Mooring off the Southern Isles, the entrances ranging in size from good enough for one person at a time or made for entire ships to disappear.

With the entrances welcoming those who wish to join them for the party, representatives from Wonderland have been dispatched to help guide visitors in through the four access points, with Lily herself guiding the way through the maze.

Once in Wonderland, a variety of events have been planned to celebrate the solstice and the fun is set to last for days. The night of the solstice itself is set to be celebrated with a masquerade party in the royal rose gardens of the White Palace with entertainment provided by a live band, fire eaters, and other performers.

The party will begin late in the evening with plans to continue until sunrise, at which point the guests are allowed to rest until the garden party begins the following afternoon. Teas and cakes and crumpets, Wonderland provides treats that aren’t outdone by any of the other regions, but you’re invited to do more than just eat.

Croquet is a popular sport in Wonderland and the Queen herself is known for playing, but the true attraction comes in the chess matches where the pieces are real people. Only those with similar chess scores are allowed to direct a board against each other and only people who are prepared to be hit should step onto the board.

For those that don’t want their entertainment to be so physical, there are also card matches, but anyone will tell you the casinos are better for card tournaments than a garden party.

Wonderland is built on wonder and entertainment, no one is expected to want to leave right after the party. If you want to stay in rustic cabins, you can, and feel free to listen to the singing flowers. If you want to try out the tea rooms where each brew is named after an emotion, they’ll happily serve you, the decadence of Wonderland only growing as the hour turns late and it grows apparent just how much of the realm is dedicated to pleasure.

Even the air there is unusual, the different plants and trees of Wonderland leading to a unique quality where every breeze puts you at ease.

But don’t get too comfortable. An invitation to Wonderland doesn’t last forever, only as long as you’re interesting. Party, rest, but then leave if you know what’s good for you.

Preparations and traveling for Wonderland can be assumed to be taking place from now until the beginning of June 20th, Midnight GMT, at which point the event will be considered officially underway. Participation in the event will span June 20-26 and be divided into three parts. June 20-21 will cover the solstice and the masquerade party, June 22-23 will cover the garden party, and June 24-26 will cover exploring Wonderland and partaking in whatever entertainment your muse is interested in.

    —   01:  VALENTINE’S   BALL

To celebrate the most romantic holiday of the year, the Crown of Auradon is throwing a ball and everyone is invited! But first there’s a lot of preparation to do, buildings to decorate and entertainment to be arranged. With singers and dancers and rumors of fire eaters, you’ll be certain to enjoy yourself if you want to twirl the night away or hide by the buffet all night.

With shipment of supplies coming in from all across the kingdom, there’s work for everyone and time is swiftly running out to finish the details. Make sure you have your outfit ready for the big night and be ready to fight the competition to get your date for the night, so pull out all the stops and be ready to make grand gestures for their affection.

The preparations for the ball can be assumed to be taking place from now until Valentine’s day while the ball itself will be celebrated February 14-21! A list of sentence starters associated with the event will be dropped before the 14th and an IC group chat will be available for the event duration at the Descendants discord!

   —  05:  BEACH   PARTY

As the days grow longer and the water grows warmer, the urge to laze around in the heat begins to make an appearance in even the hardest of workers. A trip to the shore isn't usually something special, but for some it will be a chance to crash into waves that don't hide predatory crocs and for others it will be a chance to let the ocean lighten the weight of all that they carry.

A casual get together instead of a fancy event hosted by a kingdom or a holiday acknowledged by an entire country, word had spread about a gathering along the coast north of Belle's Harbour. Invitations aren't necessary, but those who wish to attend are encouraged to bring sunblock, umbrellas, beach balls, and preferably show up in their bathing suits before allowing the water to wash away the stains of past struggles.

Gossip and personal planning to attend the beach party can be assumed to be happening from now until the beginning of May 27th, midnight GMT, at which point the beach party will be considered officially underway. The event will take place May 29th, but participation in it will span May 27 to June 2nd and be the focus of the IC group chat in the Descendants discord, but dash threads are encouraged for one on one interactions!

INTRODUCING  A  DESCENDANTS  DASH  EVENT

  —  04:  ULF  NIGHT

Stories are always told of the celebrations in Auradon, singing mermaids and rare showings of magical fireworks contributing to a sumptuous display for their many events, but there’s more to the world than just Auradon.

Across the water on the Isle of the Lost, a different culture has grown from the myriad of people left abandoned, the decades of imprisonment leading to a generation with their own reasons to celebrate. If the two sides of the barrier are to ever coexist, it’s going to take more than integrating the Isle into Auradon, it’s going to take accepting there’s more to the Isle than villainy. 

Ulf Night is an annual event to celebrate the Isle’s first natural power supply, an occasion marked by lighting candles and lanterns shortly before midnight. Following that, individuals engage in the game of ‘moonlight’, hiding in the shadows and seeking each other out.

For the first time, the Isle is opening up Ulf Night to Auradon and businesses are looking to cash in on the increased participation. The streets will be filled with food carts and merchants will be offering their finest wares, sideshow games set up in the hopes of luring in those with money to spare. If you’re more creative than competitive, there are options for you as well, workshops waiting to accept those wanting to make their own lanterns and candles to light during the dark night.

By 11pm, bonfires will roar and with illumination granted, the game of Moonlight will begin. Similar to hide and seek, the Seekers track down the Hiders and once someone is found, they join the team of Seekers until everyone participating has been found, or until the last lantern goes out.

The set up and arrangements for Ulf Night can be assumed to be taking place from now until the beginning of April 25th, midnight GMT, at which point the event will be considered officially underway. While Ulf Night will be considered to take place on April 30th, participation in the event will span April 25th through May 1st.

April 25-27th will roughly be devoted to the ‘day’ part of the event, the stalls, workshops, and games, while April 28-30th and May 1st will roughly be devoted to the ‘night’ part of the event, lighting the lanterns and playing midnight. A timeline of the night is as follows.

2pm-4pm (April 25), 4pm-6pm (April 26), 6pm-8pm (April 27), 8pm-10pm (April 28), 10pm-12am (April 29), 12am-2am (April 30), 2am-4am (May 1st).

  —  02:  TOURNAMENT  IN  CAMELOT

Following the events of Auradon’s Valentine and discovering the chance to duel others to be in high demand, Prince Art of Camelot ( @arthurjr​ ) has arranged a Tournament in his kingdom, a multi-day event that will offer those far and wide a chance to show off their skills.

Dueling and jousting are the most anticipated events, but archery and melee fighting are also events that visitors can compete in, or simply watch from the sidelines if they prefer the spectator position. Regardless of your role, there’s something to appeal to everyone in the form of food, music, blacksmiths selling trinkets, and harmless games anyone could indulge in.

Before the fun can begin, those hoping to compete will likely need to gear up for a road trip in order to make it to Camelot on time since not everyone can travel in the blink of an eye. First time visitors to Camelot should also consider brushing up on the local culture as many consider the kingdom to be like taking a step back in time due to the way it mixes technology and fashion from different decades in a unique blend that belongs wholly to Camelot.

The travel, set up, and other preparations for the Tournament can be assumed to be happening from now until the beginning of March 2, midnight GMT, when the Tournament will be considered to be officially underway. A list of sentence starters for the event will be dropped before the 2nd and there will be an IC group chat focused on the event at the Descendants discord!

  —  03:  OLYMPUS TOWN HALL

Time and again people from Auradon and the Isle meet up and no matter what occasion brings them together, there’s one thing that always holds true during the interactions - questioning the rules of Auradon and demanding more rights for those that call the Isle their home.

Anyone that visits the Isle can tell that it’s in need of help, the list of things that need to be done before it would be considered livable by the standards of even the most humble in Auradon something that spans pages, organized nearly in sections and subsections. There’s the need for fresh water, stable housing, warm clothes, fresh food. The basic living necessities have been denied for too long, leaving the Isle to resemble a warzone after a fight for its own survival. 

During one of many debates about the welfare of the Isle and the rules of Auradon, an agreement was reached to seek out the gods of the Greek pantheon for help in reviving the land of the Isle and petition them to make it healthy enough to grow food and help sustain the people living there. As the spring equinox arrives, so does Persephone, and the time is ripe for debate on just how Auradon has treated not only the Isle, but all those it believes to be second class citizens, those known as sidekicks and magic users. 

This isn’t yet another cabinet meeting between old officials from the various kingdoms, but a town hall held in Olympus to give everyone the chance to be heard. Anyone willing to make the trip can give voice to their complaint and the crown of Auradon is expected to hear them out and weigh their words in hopes of making the world a more balanced and fair place. 

While no one can know the stories that will be voiced and the light that will be shed on the reality of the isle, expected topics of debate include the laws against magic, reparations for those on the Isle, the order in which repairs should be undertaken, and how those deemed to be incapable of rehabilitation by both Auradon and the Isle should be dealt with.

The travel and arrangements for the Town Hall can be assumed to be happening from now until the beginning of March 21, midnight GMT, at which point the Town Hall will be considered officially underway. The event will span March 21-28th and will be the focus of the IC group chat in the Descendants discord, but dash threads are encouraged for one on one interactions!

 —   011: Spirits Pass

All Hallow’s Eve marks the time when the barrier between worlds is thin, and too many ghosts have walked the earth for anyone to say this story isn’t real. They say the Headless Horseman likes toffee, but he isn’t the problem this year.

They say that spirits who die violent, traumatic deaths have trouble moving on and the invasion took many lives that had yet to be fulfilled. The grief and trauma are still issues being dealt with by the population, spaces are still empties in stores even if the tribute pictures are gone.

Others say that a soul can’t rest until it’s body is at peace, desecrated graves and disturbed corpses being enough to pull someone back from their rest, leaving them disoriented and dangerous as they’re caught in a space between. Are they dead? Are they something else? Confused and hurting, they lash out - or that’s what the stories say.

Fortune tellers have long made a profit from offering their services, but not everyone claims to read the future. There are tarot cards and tea leaves, but there are also ouiji boards and people who claim they can talk to the dead.

Don’t play in a graveyard, they say, but all of Auradon is a graveyard these days.

This is the undoing.

As the veil grows thinner, the restless souls of those that have died in the past few months stir and tremble, coming to awareness. They were never buried, never burned, and their deaths came too quickly for any peace, some holding onto rage that still burns brightly in the night.

There are strong witches in the world, people like Claudine Frollo, and even if it’s not intentional, their magic reaches out to the dead with questions and regrets. Where is her magic from, why is it doing this? It seems the people with answers are dead, and the dead hear her calls.

The Headless Horseman is dead, yet he bursts into the world through the base of a tree. He causes no harm and is rarely seen, coming across as a myth to most, but others know of his existence. More importantly, the dead know he can escape, and they want their freedom. The tree that will release them from the pit of hell is out there and they will find it.

The mermaids have been returning bodies as they find them, but not all were returned, there are remains of the dead still scattered under water and across land, and some far from where they fell. Valeria is known as the bone girl and she’s gifted skulls to many people, leaving them in many places. They serve as bread crumbs now, beacons of light to their deceased owners who haven’t accepted their fate. The pile of bones that she’s collected in the catacombs serves as a lighthouse for the dead.

Those angry lost souls that had their lives cut down have heard the cries of their loved ones trying to reach out to them, they’ve been awakened by the pull of a witch’s magic. They can feel their bones out there, pulling to them and demanding to be found, serving as a connection to the living.

They’ve found the Horseman’s tree and now they break free to wreak their havoc on the world, Captain James Hook at the lead and Captain Armando Salazar chasing behind.
