Congratulations, Luka! Your submission "The Dragon" has been published!
Write a scene in which your main character has to face a monster, or conquer a challenge that he or she finds terrifying, and make sure you include many of the same sensations which you feel when you are scared.
My legs were burning. Not because of the flames around me, but because of the long ten minutes I had been waiting, sitting on a branch of a tree. I was sitting in such an uncomfortable position. Maybe it won't even come, I thought, maybe it lost itself, or it's dead. But then I heard a crack, right next to my ear. And then another one. I shivered. When suddenly, a big roar resounded behind me, and I fell down. The branch had fallen off the tree, and I was lying down in the fire. I didn't have time to recover, I could see the dragon's bulky shadow between the smoke and flames. I coughed and coughed. Then I pushed myself up, and took out my pocket knife.
"Where are you, beast?" I yelled. And as soon as I had, a roar resounded, and something exploded. I saw a tail swishing in my direction, and jumped stomach first on the ground. My heart thumped in my chest, and my mind raced with thoughts. I had to have a plan, because I couldn't be a coward and run away.
