Meh, I read what I had and figured that this was at a fine enough part to post. Spoilers under the cut.

Oh Doey I missed you. Never leave again. Lots of moving parts in this chapter, and I hate it less than I hated the last chapter even though I think it's weaker in a lot of respects. Also, someone bookmarked the fic with this comment and it made me lol really hard:

Totally understandable. It was a risky move but it was worth it for the 'Playtime Bicycle' joke.

Aaaand I think it introduces some conflict, which is the only way I get anything out of writing Giblet. I'm being pretty ungracious to him in the fic, but I think there is a lot that he is doing that comes from a genuine place, too-- and like, he and Angel are both at fault for a lot of the miscommunication that happens.

Woe, Doey dragon be upon thee

An AU I've had rattling around in the waaaaay back of my brain for about a year, but I don't really think I'm gonna end up finding the time to write much if anything for it. Alas.

I haven't fully decided a lot of things yet, but I do know Jack, Kevin, and Matthew are turned into Dragon Doey when they're in their early 20s, and they all knew the reader when they were humans. Doey has some shapeshifting ability but a bit less than he does in the game. He can stretch his forelegs/arms to be more wing like, giving him a wyvern-ish body plan, though he doesn't fly super well due to still being pretty dense and heavy.

Everything else is a bit up in the air.

I'm leaning towards the cause of their dough-dragon-ness being the three of them teamed up to get something from a cave (magic relic or somesuch) and got cursed or something exploded and well...now this. Possibly this mission was also them getting something FOR the reader, so they're connected to why the guys are now like this.

Also haven't decided if it's only Jack who has a crush on the reader when they're all human, and then it just kinda bleeds over into Kevin and Matthew, or if they all do have semi-crushes on the reader before shit goes down.

Jack is the biggest and the tallest, by a lot. Might even have something where he's called "Big Jack" around town. He's responsible for most of Doey's personality and physical appearance, and might be the more dominant personality of the three. (Which kinda tracks with canon, cuz he was the one who had a connection to the toy beforehand.) Not completely sure if Doey's going to be a fourth personality the way he is in Second Chances or if Jack's going to kinda take on that roll.

Matthew looks bookish (skinny + glasses) but isn't that academically gifted (again keeping with what's said about him in canon) and Kevin...I have not decided. He's generally mistrusted around town but he and the reader have some softness towards each other. Not sure on specifics other than that yet.

I need to make Jack a partner. I have a character in mind for that (she predates both Angel and Max even!!) but I might have to write them together and see how they hit it off first.

doey boys + angel! thoughts and some hcs under da cut

I did this sketch a month or so before we moved and i just never could clean it up in a way that i liked so ill just call it done lol. Kevin has a PDA. remember those????

If there was like a human AU i don't know how well they would function as polycule, I feel like it would fall apart pretty fast lol. Although I do think there would be genuine affection between all of them and I think it'd end amicably. I think they would still be friends and play DnD together weekly. In AYK the boys are 12/15/17 in 1993 when they are turned into Doey so... 24/27/29 by 2005. Matthew and Angel are the same age for like half of the year.

Matt probably stays at home and keeps house. Kevin for sure has some sort of Tech related job, prooooobably solution architecture as that was big and lucrative in 2005. Jack just works at blockbuster.
