Update and Go Fund Me for Andrew Cross of the Desert Drifter Channel.
"In January 2025, Cross was involved in a car accident that left him with a severe traumatic brain injury. The accident occurred when a large Dodge van hit Cross's car from behind while he was stopped at a red light. Cross was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain."
This couple explains how watching Andrew's videos will help out financially.
If you love the roaming the desert in the American Southwest or are interested in the archaeology of the indigenous peoples of the area, you'll really enjoy his videos.
One of the best things about his videos is the respect that he shows to the native ruins he discovers as well as to the earth itself. He never desecrates or disturbs the sites and only tells you where they are if they are already well known. Many of the sites are extremely difficult to reach and well off the road. But he does film it and discuss it.

At some point last year I spotted the red and white jello car and was tickled that it looks so much like my actual car (red and white Mini Cooper, you see it, yea?), so I bought one. It was only, like, a buck, you know? Next outing I saw the green jello, and had to get that one too because lime jello is my FAVORITE candy-type flavor. And again, just a buck, who cares. Many outings and bucks later I now collect food themed Hot Wheels. Oops.
and on that, while trying to google find the name of the cake slice, I realized that Theres a LOT of Fast Foodie cars I do not have 👀
If you have any interest in the geography/history of the American southwest I highly recommend this YouTube channel, Desert Drifter. Basically he just takes you hiking with him through the canyons, but his videos are beautifully shot, and really informative, with an almost professional narration.
Into the Unknown: The Desert Drifter's Final Voyage (Part 1)
Pt1 of Desert Drifter's last trek into the desert southwest.
I was always so excited to see where Andrew would take us next. He was so soft spoken and full of wonderful information about the places he trekked. The reverence he held for the people who lived at the areas he shared with us was incredible. I miss him.
There are others that take us to the same areas, but they don't leave me with the same feeling Andrew did.

Go in peace Andrew
I've been running Desert Drifter channel kinda nonstop overnight to generate ad revenue for Andrew's surviving wife.
Andrew was almost home from a trek at Bears Ears Utah.
I'm so pissed off, a drunk driver in Grand Junction Colorado, plowed into the back of Andrew Cross aka Desert Drifter killing him. Andrew sustained a traumatic brain injury that took his life after several weeks in the ICU. The driver is in custody at Mesa County Jail. The Vehicular Manslaughter and other charges the driver is charged with are sorely insufficient.
He was the same age as my oldest daughter.
