summer heat don't play
everything happens for a reason.
it was 115 degrees outside. to stay cool i found the nearest body of water. in effort to stay off my phone, i brought my book with me--the book is called the theory of water: nishnaabe maps to the times ahead.
such a perfect book to read.
it was so hot outside, the glue that held the book together melted so the first couple of pages fell out. i didn't know this was possible. yeah, you can bake a cookie and pizza outside, fry an eggs on the sidewalk, and curl your hair on a metal pole, but melt glue in a book??? wow, learn something knew everyday. i laughed to myself. i continued to read my book, holding the pages together.
every few minutes i would put the book down on my towel to submerge the top of my body underwater to stay cool. as i resurfaced, i feel a hot breeze--like opening an oven--pass by me, then i see my book flip open and the pages catch wind. two pages hit the water, floating at the surface. i rush to pull out of the water and place on my towel to dry. luckily, its the hot dry heat suck all the water out within minutes.
