AMC to use camera-based system for traffic management

AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to use a camera-based 'intelligent traffic management system' to solve the problem of traffic snarls. Live feeds from cameras installed at every road junction will be analyzed by software which will count the number of vehicles held up at the junction. The software will be installed on computers at the control room.
The new system will initially be installed at 66 junctions and then be extended to other crossroads - almost all along the BRTS corridor.
