I took an unintentional hiatus from my design blog (my bad). But I’m back with some good news. I got a graphic design job at the Grand Rapids Public Library. Yay books! Seriously though, I’m a fan of libraries. The summer months are great for reading and I often check out too many books to read. Sometimes I’ll even pick up a book just because I like its cover. For example, The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach.
I picked up this book because,
a) I am a baseball fan.
b) I fell in love with its cover design.
I'm ashamed to say I never got around to reading it, but I'm sure it's good. The cover was designed by Keith Hayes, who did a fabulous job with the typography-based design.
I'm sure that this video doesn't do the actual installation justice, but personally, it takes my breath away none-the-less. A Million Times, ws created by Per Emanuelsson and Bastian Bischoff. It features 288 analog clocks configured into a rectangular shape, and controlled by an iPad using custom software.
