Ok so this is better.
I actually didn’t spend much time on “Vincent” today, but I got to do something important. I pulled all of the pins and tacks out and took my glued quilt top off the wall, and it went like a dream. I hadn’t used so much glue that it was stuck to the foam board (and I did worry that I had), none of my collage pieces fell off, and I apparently managed to not accidentally glue any pins in between all those layers!
Of course, there’s much more to do before it’ll be ready to quilt. I still need to make the border and figure out my edge treatment. Still, now I have a nearly complete top loosely pinned to my design wall.
After that, I pulled out “Bobbin, the Bold” and made a quilt sandwich to get it ready to quilt.
First light is a great time to play with colour so I spent 10 minutes moving patches around in the borders of my scrappy quilt. There is lots more moving around to be done. Breakfast was yum, one of the girls at work has fruit trees on her farm and it is plum season. Very yummy. Now I have a ton of housework to do but I will be stopping by the sewing room a lot today to move those borders about until I am happy with the colour placement and to get the cream rows all facing the right way. First up though, go hang the washing out in the wind. Have a great Saturday folks.
So every time we go to Bunnings with the trailer on the car I ask Hubs to get two sheets of poly insulation stuff. Every time there is a reason why we can't get the insulation stuff. I have been wanting more design wall space in my sewing room. The Blue Design Wall is behind the door and is too small. Yesterday we went to Bunnings and got Daughter some large things that required the trailer. I asked again if we could get a couple of sheets of the insulation stuff but no it was too difficult once again. This morning when I got back from my run the insulation stuff had magically appeared on top of the Cortina. I spent my afternoon taking down the sheet of flannel I have been using as a design wall and clearing room to get the new wall installed. I will have to finish the job during the week or next weekend. Weekends are never long enough!
There was mischief in my studio while I was at work last night. Somebody pulled loose sections of my fabric collage down (hopefully somebody didn't get a hold of any pins, though it doesn't look like I'm missing any on the board). No idea who could have done that. 🙄
